New update just came down. Nothing much, though. A sale on sidekicks and shrines and 2 toy link quests for Pop Fizz (75 gem reward) and Boom Jet (150 gem reward).

How is a combined 225 gem toy link reward nothing much ? Oooh i need to woo me a Boom Jet so he will choose me .

Nice! That will help me towards getting the earth sanctum that I missed before I picked the game up again I'm assuming they will all go on sale at the end of the month again

well thats a bummer. i keep waiting for the sourcery because i have no idea what it is, and i think it might be a nice update to this game instead of a building. but never know.

Just a heads up that MSS's hut will be up for grabs on Friday and Saturday as part of a gem pack two bundle.

Some time ago, updates consisted of new companions, new items, new skylanders, new adventures...
Now only toy links. Nothing else...ah, and aquariums and windmills, useless if you reached the level cap.
BTW, what is the purpose of a level cap? Only making veteran players loose interest in the game.

There will likely be this kind of update once Trap Team is out officially.

I actually like the level cap - at least now that you can keep refilling it at the max level. I know I've been playing this game for a long time. I know I should probably move on and enjoy other games. If I were to look up and see "Level 128", it would serve as a constant reminder that I've played too long. To see Max, simply tells me I've completed that part of the game.

I didn't see the link quests yet. Probably get them with if I hard close and restart the game...

There's nothing much, because there really aren't any real updates. Just toy link quests that go away almost immediately if you have the toys. I guess they secretly coded in MSS's hut, though, but we'll probably have to wait a week or two to buy it.

The sorcery reference was referring to this being magic month, which means a magic alt, magic sanctum, and magic toy link tower. Nothing more than that.

I like level caps, myself. It gives a sense of accomplishment (at least until they raise it, again). If there wasn't a level cap, then I would feel like I didn't have something to work towards. Now that I reached it, I do have a sense of accomplishment and still have the occasional alt to max out. At least they gave us the "MAX" meter to earn gems, so those high-end buildings they have been adding (i.e. aquariums and windmills) still matter. And I'm sure they will raise the level, again, someday. Along with all new Trap Team Skylanders to level up.

As an aside, I don't see them raising the Skylander level cap unless they restructure experience. Level 14-15 is already a nasty grind, and just imagining levels about that makes me cringe. MAYBE they could add a level 16 at 300k or something, but going to 20 like the games would be crazy the way their progression works.

The way they've solved the higher level grind in the past is with new companions that make it easier. If they do that again, they moving the level cap to 20 might become barely tolerable. And I suspect they'll do just that so long as they keep supporting the game at all.

Meanwhile I'm hoarding gold so I can spin for all the trap team skylanders when they're released. I'm done buying the physical figures I think (though my kids may change my mind for me yet again).

Just one more toy? More like the video game plus the new portal and 3 characters, minimum. Also probably a new console. I'm not buying another game for the wii. The last one wasn't very good on the wii at all (not sure if it was much better on other consoles, but I heard that it was).

If you're playing LI on a tablet anyway, get the tablet version! Also gives you the new portal for linking. Actually, that reminds me of a new topic I want to start...

Good idea! But I don't want to play the console game--that's for my kids. And I don't want my kids hogging my iPad!

Yay i used 150 Namibian Dollars real currency for a Boom Jet and now i can reward myself with 150 fake gem currency on Lost islands .

Boom Jet was the first non-starter swapper I got. He has been a lot of fun to play with! I like his airstrike attack, and he can move pretty fast when you upgrade his bottom half.

Well i am glad they made this quest . I was sorta stuck in a rut thinking who to collect.

Ahh i see Dragon house at 66% percent discount . I grabbed one and i hope i can get another before the expiry date but i wont hold my breath.

Dark houses are for sale at 50 percent discount .

Darn. I was considering getting more dragon lairs if they went on a good sale, again. Too bad I can't get into the game.

How many dragon houses do you have currently ?

4 dragon houses. I got, at least, one with a quest and bought some last time they were on sale. Then and the dark houses have the best gem payout, but I only have 3 dark Skylanders that aren't swappers and lots of dragons.

I've only bought two dragon houses so far. My first two. I bought 5 of the Dark's when they were on 66% off sale. Definitely worth buying up, as long as you can refresh them at 2 hour intervals. Should be able to grab a third, but I really wish I could get more!

Do you think they'll increase the limit on Dark Houses with the Trap Team content? If not then might have to consider getting Swap Houses for DWB & DBZ to free 2 up

Why would you want to put a Dark in a Swap house, or am I misunderstanding you? Dark/Dragon pays out much better than Swap house.

It's just speculation, but I imagine they will have specific stuff for Trap Team.

I think you're right about the payouts (provided you can log in often enough). But having 3 dark 'landers doing nothing just seems such a waste.

All speculation until next month anyway but was just a thought that struck me when playing earlier.

80 - 90 Percent of all our skylanders do nothing most of the time . Their sole purpose in life is to level up and give a few gems .

If I'm not mistaken--there aren't any more than 3 dark skylanders that aren't swappers (and then there's only 2 of them!)

At the moment you are right; 2 dark swappers and 3 others. But trap team dark edition brings 3 new dark skylanders which is why I asked the question
