While I was playing the Trap Team demo at E3 2014, I noticed that you can only hear the villains speak outside the game, but not in the game itself. Whenever the villains talk inside their traps, the music in the game is toned down a little but you can't hear them. I wonder if we have to use microphones while we play in order to record the villain voices and let users hear what the villains are saying while we play as the Skylanders. Or it could get annoying overtime to some of us as we progress through the game, and we prefer not to have villains talking.

Probably. That's rather strange to do, but yeah it's possible.

yes, thats why there is a speaker in the portal, the villain that is trapped in the trap you currently have in there will be talking away through the portal speaker, responding to whats happening in the game, complaining if they haven't been out for while etc.
each villain says different stuff, with each having a ridiculous number of unique phrases, i think 200 lines of dialogue each was said. so yeh, if you want to record from the portal speaker, i would imagine you will need an external microphone. me personally, i play 90% of the time with the volume at almost 0, as most of my playtime is while my youngling is asleep, and its reeeealy not worth waking him x.x hahaha

I'm sure there'll be an option to turn off the villain's voices or display them on the television. I remember hearing though that villains have over two hundred lines of recorded dialogue though.

I know there is a way to turn off the portal speaker and I read it's possible to move the villain speech to the TV
That's probably only gonna affect Wii U players though considering they are the only ones that have earphones thus would need that.

lets hope that is true.... this portal is very special and if the speaker in the portal break or something that let you not hear the villain voice. it will be less enjoyable to play, and there may be trouble getting a new trap team portal in 5-10 years from release.

If it is possible, it would beat the microphone placed next to the portal, unless users want to experience the toys to life magic.

V The only way to find out is to wait for the game to arrive. Personally, I think it would be a good idea to have the captured villains' dialogues heard on TV. However, the Traptanium Portal has a built-in speaker for a reason.

I'm betting all of the dialogue will be as annoying as Rufus ... also anyone saying that you can move portal dialogue to the TV should be quoting supporting evidence.

If it'll be so annoying just don't use Traps. They're not unskippable like Rufus. By that logic no one could play as Trigger Happy or Camo because they just won't shut up.

Well, except we know the amount of dialogue for the villains is considerable. They'll be chatter boxes. And glad you mention it: I have to mute my TV to play as Trigger Happy.

...Wow. I don't even pay attention to what they're saying unless it's a new character. That's a strange thing to be bothered about I guess, the only things that make me lower the TV's sound is SB's powered up babies or Bash's giant roll, since they seem to have some weird glitch in Giants where they repeat way more than they should.

I just noticed in the new chararcter videos that you can clearly hear the villains talk as they are sucked out and boomed back into the game. Perhaps there is a way to hear the dialogue both in the game and on the portal.

If they have a 100 lines each, seems like that's a poor bet. And as others have said, you can just take them out of the trap. Also, on most games, not sure about skylanders, you have the audio options to control the background music and dialogue volumes separately. They easily can control the volumes of music, dialogue, and villain dialogue. I would be bothered if you can't control the volume of trap. There times my kids play in the morning and they know they need to have the volume way down why everyone sleeps. Other times, we have the tv up loud, and that would stick if it drowns out the trap. |

in one of the videos, i think one of the family gamer tv ones, they showed the audio options, they were showing how the volume on the portal can be lowered or raised, i'll see if i can find it again.
