I'm going to Times Square, New York for the first time soon, and I'd like to know what the Skylanders stock is like at the famous Times Square Toys R Us, as I'll be stopping there for some Skylander shopping. It's probably just like most of the other stores, but I'm curious on how that store is compared to the rest. Are the employees clueless or not? Is the stock fairly up-to-date? They usually get some of the figures first right?

The inventory is decent, but speaking specifically about Skylanders it's pretty normal by TRU standards. Overall, ya, the store is fun and super cool to walk through.

As for the employees, yeah they're clueless about Skylanders and they're overwhelmed by the endless swarms of people.

The pegs tend to be a jumbled mess too.

Yeah, their stock isn't too bad, but there's almost never anything special there. They have good stock on almost all of the SWAP figures, except for Doom Stone, Freeze Blade, and Trap Shadow.

They never get figures first unless they're tied to an event (excluding Green Shroomboom).

The store, in general, is very impressive. They have an ice cream and coffee shop downstairs and the indoor ferris wheel is pretty amazing. When I was there for the Doom Stone event, their Skylander stock wasn't much different than other stores, they just had a lot more quantity of the same things you find at other TRU stores.

Now the Nintendo Store, on the other hand is quite impressive. Worth the few blocks walk to get to it from TRU. Nothing special Skylander-wise, but their Pokemon exhibit was really cool. We got my youngest son a reversible Mario backpack and Mario wallet, which he loves. I also picked up a Hyrule Historia book while we were there.

I'm definitely going to Nintendo World after TRU. I saw a video of it before and it looked amazing. I also saw a cool video of the indoor ferris wheel at TRU. There's even a coffee shop downstairs? Nice!

Ya i was last there for the same event, felt about the same skylander wise as any other store.
The Nintendo store is real cool, they have a section upstairs that shows the history of nitendo with some cool stuff in it, loved showing that to my 8yr old son. Also they have cool items for sale.
