During the special stream of "Monthly Famitsu feat.", a new game was revealed by The Pokémon Company president, Tsunekazu Ishihara. This game is and is in development by Bandai Namco with producers from both Tekken and Soul Calibur series. Info is being continually added so keep checking back
Edit @ 14:11: It is an arcade game coming out in 2015
Edit @ 14:28: In answering questions, it was implied that there may be non-arcade release later since it is said to come first in arcades

The US trailer basically confirms a Wii U release soon after the arcade release. They're not gonna plan an arcade release in the west. :P

I was hoping for something different (where's my PokéPark 3 and/or Ranger 4???), but oh well.

I'm not sure. One of Lucario's moves reminds of Chun Li attacking an enemy in SF4. I hope it's fully 3D-based with 4-limbs like Tekken though.

I was hoping for a Pokemon X D like game for the Wii U, but this looks cool on it's own. I just hope they release it here in the west *cry*. The Wii U needs more love!

They could. They ended up finally bringing Mario Kart Arcade GP DX to Dave and Buster's so they could end up doing Pokken there as well.

I wouldn't be so sure on that. There's plenty of humanoid Pokemon from different Types.

Even if they do focus primarily on Fighting types, there'd still be tons of unique possibilities. I'm hoping for some unique fighters with dirty tactics like Toxicroak and Scrafty! :)

This was one of my worries. As much as i love Lucario, for some reason this game isnt interesting me too much. I need more info before i can say if i wanna play it. For instance how many playable pokemon there are. Along with a 3d battle field (where u can circle each other) instead of the normal 2d fields in most fighting games. I'd love for this game to have the dbz style where the enviorment is 3d and u "lock on" to your opponent.

An interview came out stating that the game apparently won't play exactly like Tekken, and it won't be limited to Fighting types.
