Nah, forget it. What I think about your attitude today is probably just an opinion only I hold these days, if anything.

I hate the amount of the same trend of certain trends. But that it.

I feel like people here convert new people here to their ways...Slowly though.

Eh, it's alright.

I don't like the peaceful times. I wanna see someone do something that everyone flips out over then it's a pretty good read. Like a book with no plot but still interesting. And it's written how Shakespeare writes stuff with no stage directions.

I dislike the constant trends and the way people can react to serious topics or arguments. In a way I guess I also wish the section didn't suck up every topic that wasn't related to Spyro/Skylanders, and that Idle Chatter had more activity.

Otherwise it's my favorite section and the only one I visit regularly.

People, including myself, have been saying stuff like this for years and it never really changes. If we were right and it was on a steady decline, it would be nothing but nonstop gibberish with no form of language.

I like when the place explodes with posts, as a lot of the time I refresh compulsively S&N at 12pm and there are no new posts

I visit it every day hoping for an interesting topic, everyday i am disappointed.

Mods here tend to do absolute crap. The only thing I've noticed a mod do recently is move one of my topics to general.

I honestly think S&N should be a cleaner place. It can still be random as fun, but it's getting incredibly weird and gross. I'm going to say it again but...the fact that people can post so much crap on here and not get banned is ridiculous. I know mods can only ban users for 24 hours, but jeez. dark is a crappy admin, he kind of needs to enforce more restrictions imo.

It's fun and stuff. Just most people don't accept others opinions. Oh well.

all i dislike about it is the lack of entertaining topics right now and the amount of trends that're appearing. trends used to appear about once or twice a month and only lasted a day or two. i'm seeing them everywhere currently.

I find S&N to be an enjoyable part of DS..^.^
I love the freedom we have here, which doesn't seem to exist on any other forum ever.
I enjoy trends whenever they may arise.
I just enjoy S&N. ^.^

S&N is pretty great. I enjoy playing here and being played with.
The thing I dislike is.....probably when people make comments like "We've change." or "Things are worst now" or treat S&N like the only place in the internet that behaves like this. We do have some...special likeness. Just not, eh..unique..
Oh and it's dumb when people ridicule others for being young. You used to be a kid too! In fact, it looks like you still act like one!

How I feel about Stuff and Nonsense section of the dS forums? That is the big question here and I wish that I can answer to that question as well as I can. The definition of this place is that it is a place for non-conversations. So it is about small talk, topics with no remarkable substance and debate.

That makes this section a nice place to just relax and let the brains go to rest. To me this place has been practically the only place where I have managed to post on regular basis since the discussion about Spyro outside of Skylanders universe is practically on coma. So this place holds a certain sanctuary value to me. Here I can just be without thinking. I hope that I made clear point here.

The only thing that sometimes gives me the feeling of frustration about S&N is its pointless trends and misplaced topics. Usually I dislike trends because I do not understand the point in them. I understand the fundamental “logical” working behind the reasoning for having them in social communities of the internet but the substance of the trends themselves does not intrigue me a tiniest amount.

The point of misplaced topics explains itself quite well. By the definition this section of the forums is sanctioned only for non-conversations which means that meaningful discussion of profound nature does not belong here. All the philosophical, religious, political, current significant event topics should go to Idle Chatter, at least that is how I have seen the things. So that is one of pet peeves about this section.

But all in all S&N has been a quite nice place to hang around. Even though I do not participate that much in many of the topics, majority of them is actually a nice read when enjoying the first coffee of the day and in the times when one does not simply figure out anything else to do on computer and in internet. I like it.

I think S&N is both good and bad. It's good mainly because topics of discussion flow freely around here and people readily adress issues and voice their opinions on subjects that they would otherwise try to avoid.
This board sees a lot of traffic so it's never stagnant. Every day there is a page full of fresh topics for you to check out, so it's rich in content.

It's also bad because of the very same things. The strengths of this board are also it's weaknesses.
You can't really start a discussion here (serious or not) because people will just end up talking about things that they want to talk about anyway. Anything that doesn't seem interesting at the moment gets ignored.
There is no common consensus on anything, so nothing will ever change. People will never work in unison to stop posting trend-topics, to report trolls or anything like that. One or two moderators can't possibly live their lives and keep the forum clean without help from the users, and all they get is complaints for not being able to do so.

It's obvious that cliques exist, but it's not one-sided. Everybody has a clique, whether large or small.

I don't think that this is an issue you'd want to approach with the "us vs. them"-mentality. Treat people as individuals without clumping them all under a label.

I mean the people who think S&N is an elite club for the best users.
