Skylanders Bank

Here's a crazy thought. What if our Skylanders, including fully leveled-up and upgraded ones, want to deposit all of their gold? Later, any new Skylanders without any money could come and withdraw as much gold as they require in order to purchase their upgrades and/or other things like hats, legendary treasures, charms, and bonus missions. It's the best way to avoid hoarding gold to themselves.

as good as a bank would be, there are plenty of features that i think need to take priority over a bank.
considering how easy it is to get gold. Every single one of my skylanders maxed out their gold about halfway through completing their figure quests in Swap Force, and that was through normal gameplay, not doing any "Gold exploits". so i guess it could be used so none of the collected gold is "wasted".

I agree, a bank to give all your new skylanders the hundreds of thousands of gold you have on your old skylanders would take away a huge part of fun for having a new skylander. I'd never use a bank, I'd rather actually PLAY with the new people and earn the money.

Do not want a bank. The primary reason for gold in the game is to get upgrades, so making it very easy to get upgrades kills much of the reason/need for playing a character. Leveling does pretty much nothing.

So I'm hoping there is no bank and no money cheat.

I usually do all the HC and quests for each character anyways. So a bank of any kind wouldn't improve anything for me. Except maybe when it comes to buying hats and stuff like that.

Even then, Nightmare mode + Drobot + Sky Diamond = easy money if you do it right.

Honestly I want no bank and no money cheat. To tempting to max my Skylanders as soon as I get them.

Right, and they've included tricks on EVERY game thus far to make a bank useless in my opinion.

If, however, the mechanics on what gold is used for expands with a more involved process (highly doubtful) then I can see it.

Basically, Activision thinks the players drool and are basically out of diapers, so "too complicated" comes to mind.

GR, come on now. That's a little unfair. The fact that they don't have a more complex banking structure does not mean that they think the players are morons. As it stands right now, money is used for buying upgrades, hats, charms, etc, and that's about it. What else are you suggesting money be used for? Perhaps maybe the skylanders should be able to take out loans, hiring some employees and start their own business? (That's a little unfair on my part, but I like the sound of it, so I'm leaving it in). And honestly, the mini games they put in, although not extremely complex, do show that they expect players to be able to think, atleast with elementary school logic, which is the target audience after all. I don't think they put in the money cheat(s) on purpose. I only used the cheat on SF, and that definitely looks unintentional.

Personally, I'd like to see upgrades require a character to reach a certain level before they are eligible to buy certain upgrades. And yes, they could provide more items for purchase to improve your player. My kids got to play a little Diablo (gasp!) with me this week, and they loved the complex set of items to purchase and upgrades. That won't happen with skylanders though, as they do want the characters to closely resemble the real life figure (fans complain when they don't), and if they gave you too many options to do with one figure, you won't feel the desire to buy more.

Isn't there a piggy bank item in an adventure pack this time around? Not defined yet what it does, but it's a good guess.

I didn't say morons--that's your word. Targeted players are young and they are "railing" the Skylanders experience to fit their target demographic. It's a fact. It's also a fact that many features I've seen pitched (by even their Youtube constituents) will never see the light of day because of this.

So, I didn't make this up. This is by me being observant here and hearing their comments to feedback on what to do with the game.

I do however very well know there are sophisticated players out there (and here) that want bigger stuff--but based on my observations I have doubts anything even remotely sophisticated will be introduced. But in this specific case I personally think this feature isn't even needed...unless of course they are willing to risk their standard level romp rails and introduce some "task adventuring" into the mix here that would make this feature REALLY useful.

While a bank would be good, and as often I use the cheat in SF, I kind of hope they don't ever make one. And they stop giving us ways to cheat to get gold.

I assumed 'players drool and are basically out of diapers' to be the equivalent of morons.

I completely agree that younger players are their target demographic, as it should be.

It did make the experiencing of "leveling" up the character in Swap Force cheap, as I wasn't able to experience each level of power individually. I just threw the diamond on and bam! I was completely upgraded. The problem with doing this is that most folks isn't going to do this for ALL of their characters. In a way I would say using gold to purchase upgrades is not scaling well now like it did with SSA. I would argue doing Heroics to do character upgrades (or something along those lines) might be a better way.

I really like idea. It would save so much time for all players who want to max out their Skylanders.
