I heard we'll be able to download friends' Toy Boxes using the Disney ID thing. Does anyone know if that's true? That's pretty big news, but I haven't seen much about it, and couldn't find anything in a Google search.

Here are some details of the new toy box 2.0:

BURBANK, Calif. - (August 14, 2014) - Leading into the Disney Infinity Toy Box Summit, which is being held at Avalanche Software in Salt Lake City, UT from August 15 - 17, Disney Interactive today announced a detailed list of new Toy Box features that will debut in the new Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) when it hits retail stores next month. This weekend, Avalanche Software will allow select super-fans from all over the world to experience first-hand, the new tools that will make it easier and faster for every Disney Infinity fan to build and share custom Toy Box creations with family and friends.

"The Disney Infinity Toy Box really hit a chord with players who over the past year have submitted hundreds of thousands of Toy Boxes to us as a part of our weekly Toy Box challenge," said John Blackburn, Vice President and General Manager of Avalanche Software. "Our fan base is active and vocal, so when we scoped out our plans for Toy Box 2.0, we took their feedback into account and incorporated many of their requests, including more structured game play, tools that would make it easier to build Toy Boxes, the ability to go inside structures and more. We can't wait to see what our talented fans are going to create this year."

The new Disney Infinity Toy Box 2.0 Edition features include:

Toy Box Tools - Procedural generation of content can now be accessed and harnessed through two primary systems:

* Creators - Tools that the player can place into the world in real-time, and a themed arrangement will be procedurally build that world within minutes.

* Builders - Non-player characters (NPCs) that a player can drop into their Toy Box to build out detailed worlds.

Templates - Players can use these pre-built Toy Box Games ranging from battle arenas to race tracks and customize them using the items saved in their personal Toy Boxes.

Toy Box Games - The Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack will feature Toy Box Game discs, which players can use to access standalone game modes including Tower Defense and Dungeon Crawler games that any character from across the Disney Infinity universe can play.

Interiors - Players can now create their own interior levels where they can build rooms and theme them to their favorite characters. Unlock hundreds of furniture pieces and decorations based on iconic Disney and Marvel properties.

New Toys - New toys allow players to make more detailed games with beginnings, endings, winners, losers, result screens and virtually any type of game including races, battles, collection-based games, defense games or exploration adventures.

* Challenge Maker - Allows players to create any type of game, including structured games within the Toy Box.

* Toy Box Game Maker - Allows creators to restrict core actions typically available in the Toy Box, such as the use of the magic wand.

* Text Creator - Allows builders to write their own text bubbles in the Toy Box. All text is filtered through a safe chat server for friendly writing.

* Creativi-Toys - More than 75 new Creativi-Toys allow players to customize their Toy Boxes even further.

Improved On-Boarding - The introductory Toy Box will now be filled with Game Play Hosts who are available to assign missions and answer questions, as needed. Players are free to learn and explore on their own, but can ask a host for help and they'll even be rewarded with extra goodies once missions are completed.

Updated Online Services - A Newsfeed screen has been added to the main menu, giving the user an overview of the new online services:

* Increased Storage - Storage for locally saved Toy Boxes in a player's private cloud has increased from 100 to 300 Toy Boxes. Support for downloadable published Toy Boxes has increased from 100 to 100,000 Toy Boxes.

* Like and Search User-Generated Toy Boxes - Players can "like" their favorite published Toy Boxes and find others that are well received. Quickly search through the published Toy Boxes using categories (developer picks, most liked, most downloaded, newest, trending, all Toy Boxes and Disney 1.0), and further refine the search with filters (genre, character required, ability required and Toy Box Games).

* Sharing with Friends - Share Toy Boxes with friends directly using cloud storage.

100,000 toy boxes!?!? that's a bigger improvement than minis.

My kids were WAY more into the toy box in 1.0 than I was but toy box 2.0 looks like something I'll be putting a lot of time into. Toy Box 2.0 really lives up to the name Disney Infinity as the gameplay possibilities seem to be infinite!

and now i can publish my toy boxes without it being a contest... awesome!

I think Baymax (and maybe Hiro and/or the Hulk depending on Baymax's powers) is/are going to be the only figure/figures I'm going to get in addition to the Starter Pack.

The Guardians Play Set comes out in Wave 1. The Disney Originals Starter Pack comes out November 4th. So no, Guardians comes before Stitch

The friend toy box sharing is honestly the biggest thing keeping me excited for this. I'll share my name so everyone can add me when I get 2.0. However, I'm gonna be waiting for the Toy Box Bundle, so I'm not getting it for a while. (Booooo how we have to wait for that... Plus I'm still waiting for the pre-order for it to go up here)

It seems like the Toy Story characters all got generic same tree skills. I heard that the 1.0 characters would just get stat upgrades and stuff rather than new moves, and that seems to be true. I didn't listen to the audio, though. At least it's still more than I expected (which was just damage/health tweaks).

I play Skylanders on the 360, but I only have Infinity for Wii U. Maybe I can search for a pre-owned 360 copy, though 2.0 isn't far off, so I'll probably just wait for multi-platform sharing.

Ah, I just remembered you need XBL Gold to play 360 games online, so it looks like my pre-owned copy idea is a bust. I'm not going to pay for online just for one game (the only other 360 game I have with decent online is Kameo, which I haven't touched since a nostalgic run months ago). Sorry. At least they added toy box sharing in 2.0.

I think they offer you free Gold membership for one month though, right? I could use that.

No, it's for all Wii U players.

But you will need the base from either the Wii or PS3 versions BC the Xbox 360 version isn't compatible like the others

So what are the disney original figures? are they just re-releases

^ No, "Disney Originals" is just a label to distinguish them from all the Marvel newcomers. They weren't in 1.0. Disney aren't reposing any figures.

I've been finishing off the last little fiddly bits from 1.0 to get back into Infinity ready for next month.
i've bee finishing leveling all the figures to level 15, for that nice Gold statue, as well as getting the last couple of stars from the playsets and the last couple of toy box capsules(i didn't realise some of the red ones are toy box stuff too).
i've got the last couple of disks coming in the mail soon, as well as a couple of crystal figures i never realised were released.

with the steady supply of Marvel movies, tv shows and other mercy lately, I'm almost as hyped for this game as i am for the Firefly Pop! Vinyls. seriously, FIREFLY!!!! ahem, sorry.

Well I'm glad that they could possibly be in. Let's hope for a Fantastic Four and XMen play set! Though I'm wondering if maybe there would be crossover characters from those Wave 2 play sets into the wave 1 play sets?
