What are you guys thinking about picking up on day 1?

and that is it (note I try to not go all out due to Smashbros 4 coming out so close to Trap team)

I'm getting 2 trap masters, a trap triple pack, the adventure pack if it's there, and the kaos trap.

As of now, I'm getting the Starter Pack for Xbox from Target, along with the Kaos trap and a character or two.

i will do the same and i want a review of the menus and stats and all that so i can see if anything force you do buy more stuff to unlock(except for the trappers that you need for the element gates)

Krypt King, Jaw Breaker, At least 7 traps all of a different elements ( including the kaos trap ), maybe the nightmare express, and the standard wii starter pack and that will last me till wave 2 or Christmas.

I would just be getting the Wii U pack, Gearshift, and the Kaos trap. I would still be saving up for Wave 2. (It sells out fast)

with the game coming out a couple days earlier in Australia there will be a few people here who will be able to answer all your questions about this game before the US and EU release day.
I'm sure the you-tubers will get a copy to review before that though, so it'll probably end up being a moot point, unless your looking for a more subjective "how did the game feel" and "was it more fun-er" type of question.

as for Day 1 plans, i'll be getting each of the figures thats available, as well as a trap of each sculpture thats out day 1, spread out between the elements. just waiting for the ebgames, k-mart, target and jbhifi catalogues to decide where i'll be getting. there are usually different deals on the figures from each place as they try to out do each others deals. dark edition is pre-ordered, normal starter i'll get when the price drops.

I'll wait for a guide myself except for a few threads. Moderators that are around frequently is good since untagged spoilers don't stick around for long, but it wasn't fun when I went looking for character reviews during Skylanders Giants to run into a guy with a spoilery avatar which took quite a while to get changed - and I don't recall that being outside the 3-month spoiler period. I really want to know what hats/soul gems I can get with each character but if that means getting spoiled then I'm willing to let day one pass.

Jk, I'd just be watching walkthroughs of the game from different Youtubers, to wait until Februaryish to buy Trap Team for myself. Of course if any of the characters I want come out before then I will buy them....

Every Skylander that is out by then, including adventure packs, the minis, and different trap of different mold.

Big change versus all the prior games ( used to get everything at launch), this time just the starter and I'll let my two kids each pick another character. I'm scaling back because we barely used most of the new ones from SSF and I'm very suspicious that trapped villains are a "one and done" so I don't want to waste money on traps.

Atm i have 5 dark editions on preorder at target for 74.99. I have the $1 ones on a few regular ones so i can get the trap. I am prob not getting anything else at launch but who knows. Everything is going away for xmas too.

I am willing to go two traps of each element for the game, but nothing beyond that until we get confirmation on the traps not being "one and done" as its been stated. As upset as I have been about the lack of information, yes I am still willing to drop the cash on release day. The lack of information and actual game itself when its in my hard will determine though if this is my last rodeo.

Still debating on getting this game but if I decide to i will get the figures that come at launch then wait till later to get the starter pack on sale during Black Friday or some other deal that normally happens a month after the game launches

A couple of facts: 1. there are over 40+ villains + 32 new characters to be coded in #5 and the fact that all future portals would have to support traps and sound. Call me negative, but I doubt it. And no, the sound of rumbling next fall won't be Lightning Rod, it will be the blasting of Activision by consumers when you can't use them.

Also, you need not point further than the avoiding of answering the question by Activision when asked directly.

Walmart at midnight on my way home from a concert Saturday night. Pick up individual figures there, plus a 3DS pack.

Regular PS4 pack preordered at Target.

Dark edition preordered on Target's site during the pricing goof-up.

Gearshift preordered on Amazon.

Dark Edition PS4, and all available traps, skylanders and legendary skylanders. Etc. lol. yeah i go all in. Also i'll be getting the regular 3ds and Xbox 1 version on black friday as they always go for like 30$

1 Get Dark stater pack PS3 (if my micromania doesn't fail like usually)
2 smash food fight with a hammer (... ok in black, i can almost tolerate him)
3 unpack and play with all my swap force figs kept in reserve (doom stone, fire bone, punck shock...)
4 avoiding buying more stuff, maybe one or two traps later.

The TRU where I live always does a Midnight release of this game and since it's on a Sunday morning, they usually still have whatever sales were going on that week.... So I'm hoping they will have a usual skylanders sale like the launch of SF where it was B1G1 40% off. If that's the case, I'll probably get everything there unless a competitor offers something better.

well best buy price matches, so does walmart.

Walmart will only do it if it lists the price in the ad tried numerous times with them and always get the same no price in the ad they won't match it best buy sometimes will it depends on if you get someone that will. I have had both experiences there one would came back at a later different sale and wouldn't match because of the very same reason, which is why this year for trap team I am going to TRU.

I'm waiting until all the stores announce their exclusives before I think of a Day 1 plan. Sometimes they get sold out very quickly so I wanna be safe.

Just pre-ordered my Tablet Starter Pack from Target online (came with Outlaw B+C). I am also getting the Dark Edition for PS4 and GearShift from GameStop (in store). I will probably scoop up everything I can find otherwise so as to be able to open as much stuff in-game as early as possible. I won't get the triple pack, but will get minis, traps, and the adventure pack.

I am actually looking forward to the Tablet version, and imagine I will play it more, since it is easy to sneak in some 'tablet time' rather than parking myself in front of the TV for long stretches. Hopefully turning off the tablet insta-quick-saves so there's no commitment to sit down for an hour when I want to 100% a level.

The game.

Honestly everything. I was gonna skip reposes but sense there's only 5 I don't see why not.

Dark Starter pack and gearshift has been ordered already. I will likely let the kids pack out 1 extra as well, and a sculpt each. From there it depends on what sales are out. If TRU has BOGO half off, I will likely get a few more. Sales won't be better then that before Christmas and I don't want anything to sell out. Also don't know what mini's are available, so that will factor in.

My overriding plan is to stagger my purchases, avoid reposes and get 1 or 2 elites. That could change though as time gets closer. It also depends on whether will be with me on DAY 1. If they are not, then I'm likely to get all available (except reposes) and then keep them in the closet.

Either the Wii or Tablet version

The Kaos Trap or another trap like magic or undead or earth.

If not a trap, then I will use the $10 gift card on a Skylander.
