Ah, the classic double repose (though technically the Minis aren't really S2 - are they differently named from the S1 Gill Runt?). Still, suggests that they might release minis outside of the same-element 2-packs.

The only other new repose of one of the minis is Jet Vac or Fryno so aren't they the only other one they could do?

Yeah, the buddy pack wouldn't work for any of the 'dead weight' packs like Drobit/Trigger Snappy. I am just saying this is an instance of a mini not in a double-mini pack, so it suggests they are at least looking at other packaging options.

So the mini ones do not get trading/stat cards?

I already have a Gil Runt...only mini I have and that's fine because to be honest the mini-landers do not really interest me. Cute though.

True, Since we have the original 8, I'm all for single packing the new ones somehow.

You gotta admit, Gill Grunt and Gill Runt being buddies sounds adorable.

What I want to know is will the Mini Skylanders have only one upgrade path choice like Series 1/Lightcore toys, or can you switch paths like a Series 2+ toy? Have they already reported this?

My guess is they'll act like a Series 1 toy. Really doubt they'll have Wow Pows, otherwise they'd have to make new ones for the four minis from Giants and immediately reuse Series 2 Fryno's new Wow Pow.

Okay, cool, thanks! I didn't mean to sound disbelieving, I just wanted to double check. If he's in a single, I'm not going to bother with pre-ordering this then, since I already have Gill Runt. Plus even Tidal Wave Gill Grunt isn't that high of a priority for me. I'll get him eventually, but I'm in no rush since I already have three other versions of this same character...

If Gill Runt and Thumpling were to arrive as a Mini Double Pack much like with Spry and Mini Jini, then it would kinda bring about some issues. It will be like getting to Gill Runts if the Water Mini Double Pack was purchased along with the Buddy Double Pack. But if there is gonna be an S4 Spyro and Spry as a Magic Buddy Double Pack, I'd definitely buy it.

Then again, the Water Buddy Double Pack is not a bad idea. Since it is a Wal-Mart exclusive, it'll double the value as long as the figures remain sealed inside.

Why are they shoving Gil Grunt down people's throats. He's easily the Michelle Williams of the original SA trio.

If they actually go through with that kind of pack, you'd think there be a Spyro buddy pack with a remodeled Spyro as well as the other Skylanders won't ya say?

I think so, but you have to admit the Wow Pow for Gil is the best I've seen in any character to date. I hope the other 4 reheated landers have equally as impressive wow pows, because that would be the ONLY reason why I would buy yet another one. Or--a new moveset or something INNOVATIVE.

I think that other Skylander was Torch... A three pack with Gill Grunt, Torch, and Blades

I kinda wihed they went the blind pack route but the buddy pack really reminds me of the Transformers Evolution pack.

If kmart gets it (yes i know they dont ever get any/pay for any) id be pissed as id have to drive like over an hr just to find one IF that store even carried it.
