Not looking at it like that. I'm looking at as buying A mini for 13.99 considering the ones that I already have are boxed with the ones I don't have. It's stupid and wrong for them to do it that way. I pretty much already have all the minis I wanted bar Hijinks, but I'm glad they're playable now. If I get the game, that will be fun. :)

Granted, they're packing both of the same element together, which makes some of the currently released Sidekicks that double on elements (Whisper Elf and Barkley; Gill Runt and Thumpling) ones you don't have to get if you don't care about red base color, and you can safely get the Fire and Air packs, that have Weeruptor/Small Fry and PetVac and Breeze respectively, without any worries.

The original 8 sell for $25-$60 on ebay, "lots of people" do not have them if their price is THAT high. For major collectors, this is an insult, for people who join into the franchise later in, its a nice chance to get figures they've never had the chance to get. Don't get me wrong, they should be sold as singles, or a single mini with a trap or something, but not all of us are such hardcore collectors that we have all 8 of the over-priced mini's already.

I've got several friends who couldn't get any of the Sidekicks because it was a US only promotion, so the double pack isn't such a bad deal for most people. Heck, I saw Hijinx with Minijini (who I already have) and I've got a friend who wants Minijini, so problem solved.

...Guys, if Adventure Pack characters and special variants/uber rare guys eventually came out as singles without any need of coverage from youtubers in Swap Force, why would it be different now?

Oh wait every oportunity to bash Activision means you can't ever considering anything good from it, got it.

Trigger Snappy and Gil runt are readily available anyway.

We'll how about ppl that do have them and give into this double pack. Then activision turns around and releases singles. Which I don't doubt considering they did this. No matter what they have confirmed for now how many times have they said this is exclusive that is exclusive only to turn around and sell in stores lol. Maybe I should just try to sell the ones I have now before others come out.

If I had the time/energy, I would, but, alas, I do not. That was just a little warm up doodle before I got to work on a paid commission. If an idea comes at me later when I'm just noodling around or someone wants a commission of it, I'll do it, but otherwise it's usually a somewhat slim chance. I think the only other Mini I've drawn was Whisper Elf, and that was aaaaages ago.

I wonder if the minis for Trap Team will add to the overall count to your total collection of characters and I wonder if we (U.K.) will get all of them as we have ever only had Triggersnappy.As I am not tempted to get them but If they add to the total count of your overall characters then maybe I will have to.If everyone knows what I am getting at.

I have decided I am only getting the earth double pack as I don't have bash or terrafin.

I'll get the Breeze, Drobit, Whisper elf, Bop, and Spry. My brother will probley get the Small Fry. We already have Trigger Snappy.

I think they're really cute to be honest. As a Hex superfan, I'll obviously be getting Hijinx. Since she comes with Eyesmall, I'm assuming my bf would like him.

Due to them seemingly being in doubles, and the fact that I own two previous, I guess i'll have extras. I'll just give them to my bf because he seems to hint towards wanting them.
I feel bad for those with all the old ones though.

Eyesmall and Spry are the only ones I'm actually interested in, mostly because Eyebrawl is one of my fav Skylanders, and Spry is just adorable.

My wife and I will get all new 8. The duplicates of Eye Brawl, Mini Jini, Trigger Snappy and Terrabite I'll give to my brother since my wife and I have the original 8.

I honestly feel like the Minis are a wasted opportunity. We could have had 8 new characters and maybe 8 reposed Giants? I mean yeah, they're definitely cute and all, but they are literally copies of their bigger counterparts. Sure you could have made the 8 new ones and sold them publicly too and have them be the way they were or have them attack enemies automatically...But no, they're just there because they're cute. If you HAD to make them, why not make sideki-er, Minis of the 5 characters we havent heard of in a million years? Make Sunburn, Ghost Roaster, Boomer, Voodood and Dino Rang? Remember them? People who got into the series with Giants or Swap Force dont even know who they are! And while youre at it, why not make the only 5 reposes we're getting those characters instead of a 4th Gill Grunt, and a 3rd Jet Vac...

I like the mini's a lot and really do want collect and play them. I have the 8 existing ones already and looking forward to being able to play them on day 1. Flooding the market with new versions of the old minis is going to kill their value, and I'm ok with that. I think $14 for a dual pack is a fair price. I can understand why they want to sell them in 2's from a business sense.

That said however, there have been plenty and triple and dual packs for other figures, and not once have they ever put figures of the same element in one pack? Why now? I don't know how many of the mini figures there are out there, but they must know that the heavy collectors out there have them or, or at least quite a few of them, and this arrangement forces collectors to buy what they don't need. Not only do I have to get a 2nd eye small if I want hijinx, but I won't be able to sell it on ebay since everyone else is going to be selling their extra eye small as well.

They could have put the old with the old in packs, new with the new. They would have sold a lot less, but customers would be happy, and they could plan to produce less of the old accordingly.

They could have done something random, so that collectors might have to get some duplicates, but not 6 duplicates.

The only thing worse they could have done was put one old with one new....and that would be just too obvious.

I want these minis...but there's a darn good chance I'll pass on some or at least wait till a good sale.


As an aside, since we're going to get the dark starter pack and have preordered Gear Shift, I see it as having 4 new characters, plus the 8 minis on day 1. I don't think we'll be buying anything else of wave 1 right away.

I already have 4, I like drobit and bop though, if I could get those two in a double pack I would, but I have no interest in trigger snappy, and already have terrabite, so looks like I'll stick with my current 4

Did they say what "series" minis are counted as, or if they put in specific gates for them like the whole Trap Master mess?

I would just guess series 1 since they're kind of "gimmick" reposes like lightcores.

The sidekicks do something! Still not enough for me to buy the game, but it's something.

A friend and I had a running joke about them when the first wave of Sidekicks arrived. "The Sidekicks! They do nothing!"
I'm not sure how well that will flow now that they actually do something.

As part of the original Fritolay promotions, did people have to buy sidekicks or were they given away?

before they was counted as extras with the battle packs etc. but since you can now use them, they will for sure be added to the overall count now. i also think you will get a portal master star if you add 4,6 or 8. and overall skylanders powers will increase the more skylanders you have, all this have been done in earlier games. but since every skylanders and villain is so over powered it dont matter that much, if your not ocd about the figure count and portal master stars...

anyway there is no soul gem, element gates or anything else you need them for ingame. that is good because then you dont need to buy them.

as it is now the focus is on the villain and the trappers and activision hope to sell minis on the cute factor alone by the look of it.

Throw a single mini in with a elemental trap of the same type. You get people buying the minis and the traps in the same single sweep.

I wouldn't like that. I figured they'd priced around $11 each...so I'd spend around $88 to get all remaining 8. Sure, you get 8 sculpts on top of that, but I'm not convinced I want to get too many of these. If I do, I'd rather it be $5 impulse buys.

I'm fairly certain the double packs will cost around as much as a normal figure, mostly due to less plastic usage on the Minis when compared to Core figures.

I wouldnt like buying the same figures over again either. I never claimed it to be a perfect solution. Singles clearly would be ideal. I'm however not convinced we'll be seeing those. It however would still be a better solution to getting stuck with multiple duplicates, at least for me. The traps can get put to use.

Arguably so, but the fact remains is that Activision may lose out on a percentage of their customers if their marketing doesn't tailor to those that have them already. To not offer these as singles would be effectively to punish the completionists (by at least $60).

I find them completely useless. Adorable, but useless.

IMO, they should've removed the ones previously released and introduced 8 band new characters as minis and the other 8 being Hijinx and the rest that we haven't seen. Then, in #5, we could optionally see the "bigger" version of these new characters. But yeah, I agree....this all seems to be phoned in. There's a lot of ways they could've handled this better. I don't feel compelled to break my back and get everything anymore, they sure as heck recycle stuff.

Weeruptor- Uhm... could be much cuter... doesnt look cute at all
SmallFry- Not the best choice for a mini but he looks cute ingame
Drobit-Simpely adorable
Trigger Snappy- I always loved Trigger Snappy, never got the chance to get him tho
Barkly - Whisper Elf I have them both, Barkley would be funny with a baby bird on his back (his soulgem)
Breeze - Pet-Vac I think Breeze is really cute, not a big fan of Pet-Vac
Mini Jini- Never got her and not that interested in her (i don't like Ninjini that much in general)
Spry- SIMPELY ADORABLE also, who doesnt love Spyro?
Eye Small - Hijinx - Got Eye Small already, love eye brawl so Eye Small should be fun to play never liked Hex so i don't want Hijinx
Bop - Terribite- Bash is my favorite Skylander OF COURSE I LOVE BOP, Got Terrabite already
Gill Runt - Thumplinng- Never got the chance to get Gill Runt but he looks fun, Got Thumpling allready but he looks cool to play

I like the way you think! But Activision was thinking....Hijinx is so cool that people will buy another eyesmall so let's maximize our profits.

I see that Gill Runt and S4 Gill Grunt will be in a two-pack, but Gill Grunt is also in a Corelander 3pk. Any word if Gill Grunt will come in another two pack with Thumpling since the other Minis have been packaged by Element?
