The console versions do not include a controller, that would likely make up for the price difference. In fact, one could argue a physical controller is worth more and is more costly to include than a virtual feature. Once a virtual feature is made, it doesn't cost anything to include with every copy, but you have to construct a controller for every box, no matter how many you sell.

Guys, those Torch figures are the same one. She holds the weapon behind her head pointing slightly up, and her free arm points foward - both of them do that and Lightcores always change that kind of stuff. I'd draw to show how the perspective changes between the pictures but no one is going to be interested in that really.

Actually there were reposes, but they're only 5 reposes oddly enough. Which are all the ones we know for this game already, so unless this isn't the final poster, that's all the reposes we are getting. Also for everyone who sees the trailer, I can slightly decipher who's on the poster.

Magic - Blastermind, some skinny specter spirit dude with a staff maybe, s3 Pop Fizz, Deja Vu, a genie looking guy with maybe a vacuum weapon, Mini Jini, and that baby Spyro sidekick.
Water - Snap Shot, Lob Star, s4 Gill Grunt, a blue fish dragon thing, Flip Wreck, Thumpling, and Gill Runt
Fire - Wildfire, a big red guy with an indescribable weapon, s2 Fryno, Torch, maybe a dragon or fire horse, and 2 unknown sidekicks, but one looks like a mini Eruptor
Life - A green skinny bug guy with Scimitars maybe, Bushwhack, s2 Shroomboom, Food Fight, High five, Whisper Elf, and Barkley
Air - Gusto, strange guy with blaster guessing, s3 Jet Vac, some bird creature, Blades, and 2 unknown Sidekicks.
Tech - Jawbreaker, Gearshift, Treahhead, Chopper, Triggerssnappy, and another unknown Sidekick.
Earth - Wallop, Head Rush, Rocky Roll, Fist Bump, Terrabite, and that little Bash
Undead - Krypt King, a small hooded guy with scissors, Funny Bone, Batspin, little Hex, and Eye Small.

Those four blanks is anyone's guess what those are supposed to be. The things I'm happy about with this is first off, that second Life Trap Master could be a Praying Mantis with Traptanium sickles. Second, I actually made up a Trap Master with Scissors and thought we would get a guy with them, but never thought the second Undead guy would be the one. That guy is officially my favorite of them all, at least for now that is.

Also, the poster is clearly not complete. We need the other reposes and some element don't even have them yet.

There appears to be a sidekick Spyro, Fryno, Whirlwind, Sonic Boom, Bash and Hex.

I'm praying for S4 Spyro still. 16 reposes, 2 for each element.

One of the Sidekicks seems to be for either Smolderdash or Blast Zone,which is weird since the rest are all SSA or Giants skylanders. But does that mean that they actually put Nano Force in this game as well? The Sidekicks ARE Miniverse Skylanders officially(Lost Islands bios mention them), and with so many of them showing up instead of Series 4s... Well played,TFB, well played. I missed you guys.

The old sidekicks should all work... Whether they'll work in the same capacity as the new ones is another question. That is, assuming that the new ones are any different. Who knows, the new sidekicks might be playable but be limited from regular Skylanders? Not have upgrades or the ability to level up?

I'm all for slinging mud at Activision, but let's be reasonable. This franchise has done an amazing job keeping figures and magic items working in whatever capacity in subsequent games. I'm not making any assumption yet about S1 Sidekicks.

About the tablet version
Huh. I have mixed feelings about it. I don't have a compatible tablet (mine's too old), but even if I did, I really don't know what to think of this. The part of me that much prefers portable games thinks this is a great idea, but the part of me that dislikes download-only games thinks this is a horrible idea. In my experience, it is much easier for data to get damaged than for a disk to get damaged, so I'm wary of digital-only stuff, especially ones that require the internet, since they can stop supporting it at any time.

But aside from my wariness of tablet-based games, this seems like a cool idea, especially with the play-it-with-your-friends model they've been going for. Portable games have always been my favorite, since you can play them anywhere, and having the full console version, not watered down, on a handheld device is pretty cool.

About the Poster
It's interesting that they're cutting back so significantly on the reposes. I think one-per-element would have been fine (as long as they didn't keep favoring the same characters every time). It seems kind of lop-sided to only have a repose for certain elements and not others, but then again there have been variants for certain elements more than others. Since reposes are essentially common variants, it's not too much of a stretch.

Sidekicks. Now we know for sure that something is happening with these guys. From what little I can make out of them, it looks like they are in the same poses as the already-released versions, so I wonder if the old ones will be able to do the same thing, whatever use there is for these guys.

I do wonder if there is something behind the "Kaos and Eon elements." In SSA, there was a Story Scroll that talked about the Elder Elementals, and mentioned Light and Darkness like they were elements. Since this is a TFB game, this very well could be what that scroll was referring to. The question marks on the poster might very well be about the two new elements.

About the big reveal tomorrow
*Crosses fingers for old cores being useful for something* I know it's a long shot, but I still want to want this game. Old characters being playable, but functionally pointless (will never unlock anything) is what is making me firmly not get this game.

I was going to wait until black friday for this game but these sidekicks are tempting me. I can not ignore such cute little figures. I'll be getting them launch day, and if better gameplay releases, I might have to get the game launch day too.

This game is still pretty much the one I want the most this year, but with the sidekicks I have no idea if I'll stick to 3-4 characters outside the Starter Pack as I had planned. The Hex sidekick is a must, but everyone else looks so cute - specially if they have awesome gameplay as well. Just hope they're not pricey enough for me to have to choose between them or traps...

Hopefully if sidekicks play a much larger role, getting the S2 versions won't be as much of a pain as getting the originals [at least coming from someone who started collecting late].

The new life Trap Master looks more like a leopard to me holding to traptanium leaves as swords. A praying mantis would have been cool though.

Ayup. I had a Target pre-order for the Dark Starter with the pricing error, but I cancelled it. Going to wait till Black Friday and get a deal on it. I'll get some figures on Day 1 if stores have good sales, but probably just some of the Trap Masters that look cool.

I have this too but i'm going to hold off and make sure this "dark edition" sticks around as far I been told target and walmart and not selling this in stores. I take that with a grain of salt but who knows. Id like to make sure I get it for as low as I can before I cant etc. Idk if this will stick around like gamestops swap force one. Besides I plan to just hold onto the game till xmas this time around anyways so it's not a big deal for me.
