The topic for praising those well designed enemies fought in video games. Villains, bosses or just plain ol' mooks, they belong here.
I love the Rezbits in Metroid Prime 2.
They're these floating little patrol drones gone rogue. They have tons of attacks, so fighting them doesn't get monotonous. By-far the coolest attack it has is hacking into your power suit and uploading a virus into it, causing everything to go haywire and fake lag the game. It goes away with an easy button combo, and it's fairly obvious when it's coming and easy to dodge, so it doesn't really get annoying or hinder you like you think it would.
What are some enemies you guys think are awesome?

The thing I never really wrapped my brain around until now was in order to be remembered, in order to leave something significant behind, you have to leave
Petey Piranha from Super Mario Sunshine is one of my favorites. His entrance in Sunshine is still really awesome after 12 years, he has a really cool design, and in the spinoff games it's really fun to play as this large powerhouse.
Also did I mention he looks really cool?

Basically everything from Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is full of hilarious enemies; but especially
the Aurum for their awesometunes and fitting strangely well into the game, and Hades for all his hilarious moments (see signature quote). Also, I think Pandora is one of the best bosses in the game, despite her very short appearance. Viridi has some pretty funny lines.
Considering they SHATTER YOUR MIND right before you die- just from TOUCHING THEM LIGHTLY- Ornes can make wonderful Nightmare Fuel.
Bald Bull from Punch-Out!!
When you see this guy's full sprite show up on the screen, you know that you're in for a whoopin. Bald Bull is pretty much the biggest difficulty spike in the game, with extremely high stamina, fast punches, and his signature OHKD Bull Charge. Don't get me started on his second fight, which is easily the hardest boss in the game.
But I still think that he's my second favorite fighter in the game.

Will still be checking the forums every now and then!

from Bravely Default, not the most difficult final boss, but certainly a very epic, thematic battle that gives a rush not often felt in turn-based games. And the music, dear La'Cryma the music! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLBTIUzPpEQ particularly at 4:40, where full orchestrations of the character themes begin to play and then the main theme, but the entire track is one of the best things I've everheard. And then they did a concert version of it!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Nil0qRve4k
Young Xehanort
from KH3D. After a series where pretty much every main villain has been unbelievably hammy (though still awesome and menacing), to have one that isn't hardly hammy or very over the top evil only serves to make him more ominous, and his boss fight is pretty awesome too. It's been a while since I played but I found him not extremely challenging, but still fun to dash all over the battle field and land hits while listening to that glorious L'impeto Oscuro.
There are plenty others but I can't seem to think of anyone but bosses off hand lol

Took the text right out of my post. Anything from Kid Icarus: Uprising, really!
I like Gobblegut from Super Mario Galaxy 2. He's about the only boss that is easy enough for me to beat without losing too many lives but tough enough that I don't get bored.

Gromps from Herdy Gerdy. Seriously... Seriously. http://herdygerdy.wikia.com/wiki/Gromp
Also these little boogies can be called baddies two cause they are just so stinking hard to herd. http://herdygerdy.wikia.com/wiki/Doop
(Also just for kicks I'm going to point out in the Herdy Gerdy game there is two moles that are cousins, when does a "quick save" of your game for you. He is sort of like Resetii but a whole lot nicer and he has a cute voice that says "Do you wanna save?" It is so stinking adorable when he does it you will probably have to go find a video or the game to even hear it though.... )
The 3rd Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus looks rather cool to me.
Mushroom XIII are beautifully designed with the normal mushroom style Heartless changed to look as if it is wearing a black coat.
The Phantom, while difficult to beat in Kingdom Hearts, is also a rather interesting boss with an unusual mechanic used to beat him. Having to follow the color of his heart to know how to attack all while trying to beat his doom clock as you fly around Big Ben in Neverland fighting a mysterious cloaked monster makes it all rather fun.

Once in my dreams, I rose and soared. No matter how I'm knocked around or beaten down, I will stand up restored.
Indestructible armoured masters of combat that even change behaviour when they take enough damage. The part where you have to fight three at the same time is enough to make you cry....
Magikoopas from Super Mario World
Anyone remember that one castle in super mario world? The one where the entire floor was blocks? and underneath was lava? I bet you do, because these guys appear there, and they make you want to punch the super nintendo.
Mines from N, the way of the ninja
Simple? Yes. Frustrating? Absolutely. The cause of all the deaths? You bet.
Any pokemon with sturdy and explosion from any pokemon game

I used to be THE Bowser, now I'm just an awkward girl
Yep, I think it's pretty obvious I was gonna mention this. There's no shortage on vicious creatures that want to tear you limb from limb in Don't Starve. While a lot of them are just certain animals fused together, I can't help but be fascinated by their designs. The art style certainly helps. Here are a couple of my personal favorites. I might be back with other games.

Oh, I was hoping it was on the N64 so could... I mean, I have that game, but I never made it that far. ...Not a fan of Shooting games. ...Still, I might play it again just to fight that thing. Often times I slog through games I don't like just to fight a cool boss.
The UK Tomb Raider games had some really good cheat codes. Some of them are still usable in the US versions, too. I recommend looking them up; it helps to at least have a lot of ammo and the best gun all the time. :D
