I'm Not Sure If I Should Stay Here Anymore... [CLOSED]

I went through all my Cheezburger memes, even the oldest ones. I've noticed how much I've changed in the past year. I'm telling you, I don't like myself today. I've become so unrealistic that all I ever care to do is to go on my phone to see if a new "never going to be made" Spyro game will finally come out. I want to see that day so bad that I made so many Spyro memes that the latest ones weren't even half funny. TheEpicGuy has even told me, literally, to "stop that crap." For a while, I kept going on, but now I've seen how I changed. Just for that, I deleted most of my Spyro memes from my profile, as well as some of my other lackluster memes.

I feel so sorry for myself. I've been angry for this very reason far too long.

I don't know guys, but sometimes I don't know who I am anymore. Seriously, who am I? If I'm acting like an idiot, I may as well be a nobody. I don't know how to cook with ease, I don't know when to feed the dogs... I do well in school, but I never learn basic house techniques.

What's the point of living if everyone just dies, anyway? I mean, I know how they say, "Enjoy the moment while it lasts," but I don't want to enjoy things anymore. That's why I'm not sure if I should stay here. I can never fit in with the Skylanders kids, and just for that, I can't enjoy any moments. Sure, I liked watching Rio 2, but I leave moments like that behind too quickly and thus become miserable again.

Does anyone else feel this way?

What you need to do is to start moving on from Spyro. If you continue to depend on the franchise as your life and blood as you seem to, you will just set yourself up for disappointment when a game never happens (or a game happens and it turns out ****). Branch out your interests and play other games, or watch other movies, or listen to more music. You think people in this section still care that much about Spyro anymore, or are waiting on the edge of their seats for news of a return to the old? They moved on and you should follow suit.

Before I was largely willing to just pass your behavior off as simply really liking Spyro (and Shadow Legacy in particular) and wanting to express that in a place where it's appropriate. But this post tells me that it's far beyond that and that you're starting to feel like life isn't worth living because a video game franchise doesn't have new installments. Imagine if Half Life fans acted like this.

At least, that's what I'm getting from what I can pick up in this post. It's so jumbled and moves back and forth between points that it becomes hard to understand exactly what you're trying to say other than "I'm depressed and I want Spyro".

If you don't want to stay here because you don't feel like you'll fit in that's fine. But many people in the off topic sections (S&N particularly) aren't here for Spyro discussions. They're here for the community and friends they made when they first came here. I don't give much of a **** about Spyro anymore but I stick around anyway. How's about instead of getting upset that you can't talk about Spyro anymore, you make an effort to make new friends and give yourself a reason to stay?
Come for Spyro. Stay for the members.

Dude, there's such a thing as taking an obsession too far. You have to learn to accept that Spyro is not something worth freaking out over and getting extremely upset about if there isn't going to be a new game.

If you seriously feel disjointed from the world because there isn't a classic Spyro game coming out, there is something wrong with you. I understand you don't have great responsibilities when it comes to feeding the pets and cooking, but you should try applying yourself and learning those skills rather than complaining about it on a message board.
If you don't want to hang out in the forum because of skylanders kids, then leave. Apparently you seem to like this board enough to sign in and post everyday.

This seems kind of like a suicide note, so I must say, life is worth living. What they say is true, enjoy it while it lasts.
If you are going into depression or whatever over Spyro, then you might want to find something else to obsess over.

Indeed, and even if it isn't death's probably not worth hurting everyone around you (or if they deserve such pain, then it still isn't right to you yourself).

Find something to obsess over that you won't run out of for years, like some thousand-episode long anime (I'm sure some exist by now?) or a very staple franchise that isn't going away any time soon.

I'm getting into Netflix. That helps, at least. I saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 today, and I loved it. I at least know how to talk to people. I'm trying to call people I've met. I'm just trying to keep myself as busy as possible.

I mean, if you'll look at my past self, I was just a guy who wanted a Spyro shooter RPG platformer. I'm still wanting one, but I'm trying to steer away from this "cancerous" (quote from TheEpicGuy) obsession by focusing on other things. I agree that my thing isn't healthy, but while TheEpicGuy was always being negative to me at every turn, some others were being sentimental. Believe me guys, another Cheezburger user, AquaShldEXE, said that I reminded him of his past self, when he used to post a lot of Megaman: Battle Network memes. He said that many of them got so much hate, only because he just kept on coming out of nowhere with those memes. I haven't seen much of them, so I won't judge, but he said that he wanted to help me. He also said that it's okay to like something, as long as I don't shove it in poeple's faces, and I've been doing that too much lately. Ever since I joined, I wanted people to consider me a good guy with great ideas. Well, it's practically too late to change that now.

Look, I'm no Aura24, but I can do things. I just have to realize who I truely am.

Depending on what kind of shows/movies you like (and your age), I can recommend a fair few things to see on Netflix. Through a GB message my way if you want.

Well yeah it's generally good to like things and not shove it down the throats of others (several fanbases need to learn this). But even if you were to keep quiet about it, this has become essentially an obsession that is unhealthy for you. Your original post implies that you are almost suicidal even at the idea of no more Spyro. You gotta cut that out and get into other things.

I wouldn't say it's too late to change that. I've seen many users start out crappy but become better people, a few of which I've become friends with. I started out pretty ****ty and got better over time. Everybody improves. If you're in the mentality that it's too late to redeem yourself all you will do is carry the reputation of not only being annoying, but being a quitter as well. People here are willing to forget your mistakes if you make up for them over time.

And nobody is comparing you to Aura but yourself. If you want to try and reach her standards of quality go right ahead. But don't act like everybody is expecting the next Aura when some people in this section don't even like her.

Just what I was going to post. You're so damn lucky if the absence of a video game is all you have to complain about. And If you're that depressed about it, clinical assistance is necessary. Go before something important starts to effect you, it may become worse.

Obsessions have killed many people. For some, it's a drug that can help them through their everyday life, for others it becomes their life to the point where you can't live without it. Don't become the Ricardo Lopez of Spyro.
