Seeing how they are so focused on marvel this year makes me a bit sad for next year: I just don't like star wars. But hey, if DI does well, we will have a 4th installment for me to buy.

there seems to be almost as many in wave 1 as there was in the entire DI 1.0, 29 vs 17, ok not quite as many lol, but there is still a lot of figures in the first wave, and it'll be interesting to see what there is for wave 2 of Marvel. it'll have to be from the X-men movies won't it? who else marvel has a movie happening?

DI is done for SDCC, so we may get the trailer soon on toybox tv

EBgames australia has Maleficent and Merida available for pre-order, and says the release date is 18/09/2014.
I'm not sure if this is a mistake, an Australia only thing or that they are in the US too and your just not getting them on day one.

Look at 1:01-1:03. There's another character on the screen. I don't know a lot about Marvel, but I've heard it looks like Captain Marvel. It's probably just a Team-Up, but it might be a new character.

there is only one series of marvel discs.

Maybe another Avengers playset, like I said earlier with Avengers 2 coming in late spring it would be silly for them to not release the new characters from that movie. Disney is all about cross promotion, she could fit in several different playsets, heck she's currently hanging with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Agreed. Although I will probably buy lots of trap masters, 8 more toys to complete a game that is essentially not much different from the past 3 is just sad.
In DI, every playset is a unique experience! Like Cars vs. Monsters U vs. Incredibles for example. So much variety.

I'm just hoping for an XMen playset by the end of this, I would love to play as wolverine and storm (female!).

If they do an A2 playset/wave, I want them to do a Hulkbuster Iron Man. He should have a totally different skill tree because Hulkbuster is a brawler.

He did have some ranged attacks though. I'm not sure if he showed them in this video, but I've got the game, and his attacks include:
Limited Flight, Punch, Rocket (explodes, destroys silver LEGO objects), and a Plasma Shot.

The fact that Carol Danvers AKA the current Captain Marvel might be in this game just likely got me to break down and get this game. If nothing else I will get her figure if its released and display it proudly on my desk.

Well I dont know about a better game. Its a DIFFERENT type of game. I dont have any major desire for the Toybox aspect of the game. The whole Minecraft type building thing doesnt do a thing for me. I guess if I downloaded other people's stuff and ran around in them it would be fine.

With the dungeon crawler and tower defense frameworks added to the toy box 2.0, I can't wait to see/play the cool levels people come up with. Disney has apparently hired some of the people that submitted some of the best content for the weekly contests in DI 1, they are going to create some of the weekly new content for DI 2.0.

Some of the game mechanics in the toy box for DI1 were cluggy and the weekly free games were still pretty fun to play, so the toy box game experience should be exponentially better for DI2. I really value the fact that Disney is putting so much effort into making DI fun throughout the entire year.

Bad news: I read a topic on DI Fans, and the topic maker (who played the game) said that Captain Marvel is a Mission-Giver.

Such a missed opportunity if shes only a mission giver. The game is lacking a strong female presence with the superheroes figures.
