I heard somewhere they were and only selling the XL and 2DS! The website doesn't have the 3DS on their site anymore!

3DS XL was supremely popular. I wouldn't doubt it.

It begins with them. But ends, with me. Their son. Vaxus.

I think I would rather have a normal 3DS because it can fit into a pocket.

They still sell the regular 3DS but they focus more on advertising the 3DS XL and 2DS.

There's no point for a small screen that turns thinner when using the 3D function when a better model is made.

I know! I don't have a 3DS yet. When I eventually get a 3DS, I don't want to have to pay extra money.

First quote: Just buy a 2DS.

2nd: It doesn't make it thinner from what i've seen and the XL is better due to it being much more comfortable in your hands, better battery life, and the 3D looks much more better.

Quoting this because people seem to be ignoring it.

This is the truth. Relax, guys.

The 3DS XL and 2DS were never meant to replace the 3DS (like the DS Lite was meant to replace the original DS), nor will they. Nintendo will keep producing and selling all three 3DS options for a long time to come.

EDIT:

And Nintendo's 3DS website even clearly lists them all equally, without downplaying the original 3DS in any way.

As an owner of both the XL and original model, I can safely say the 3DS XL is the better machine. Also, the Yoshi one is adorable. :3

Yep. You're right. On the main page it shows XL and 2DS, but on the 3DS section, it shows 3DS, XL, and 2DS.

I don't want a 2DS. I don't like how it looks and it would probably be awkward. And the XL is looking better right now. thanks!

I honestly prefer the regular 3DS over the XL. I haven't really tried the XL, but I like the compact size of the 3DS. And, I also like the glossy paint job of the Cosmo Black, along with the sharper corners. There are little details on the 3DS that make it appeal to me more than the XL.

You should be able to find more colors in some stores. Nintendo may only still be making the purple and pink ones, though I'm sure stores will likely have some back-stock of the other colors.

Yes, Refurbished is used. It's just up to regulation standards so that you can "barely" notice it's used. I suggest getting the Cobalt Blue.

The 3D killing the framerate is only on a few games, such as Pokemon X/Y. Most other games don't get their framerate lowered with 3D on. 3DS or 3DS XL are the same system specs other than the bigger display and battery.

This
I enjoy my standard one. I have used the XL and the 2ds. I do like how the XL has better picture, but at the same time it gets tiresome to hold after extended use. The look thing has also been mentioned...The 2ds is surprising efficient though i must say. When i first saw the design i thought it would be awkward as hell but its actually quite comfy and pretty durable.

My 3ds has an extended battery equipped to it so it lasts longer than the 2ds and XL so that isnt an issue for me. But what is my main issue with the 3ds is its a bit fragile. I use mine a lot (maxed out my Pokemon Y game timer) and i take pristine care of my electronics but the ribbon in the hinge that connects the screens has become worn out from use. Luckily i could do a system transfer before it became completely inoperable. Hopefully i can send it in to be fixed but this has led me to consider buying a 2ds of my own and doing a system transfer so i dont lose any data if this happens to my current main 3ds <.<

Can't you take out the SD card and put it into a different console? I had the same problem with my DS Lite. It is worn and can't lock into place unless you push on the piece sticking out. It's complicated. It's hard to explain, that's why I don't let anyone else use it because it is kind of on it's last leg.

Use a compressed air can (can be found at Walmart) to clean the dust, and for the crud, just use something that won't scratch the screen badly, but still picks it off.

Also, can this topic be closed? Your question was already answered posts ago lol

Nope. Cause my nintendo ID is linked to the system itself, not the SD card. Believe me that is the 1st thing i tried :/ In order to swap the ID i had to do a system transfer. Luckily i got it working long enough to do so. But now i am paranoid this will happen to my spare as well so i wanna transfer to a 2DS since its more durable and wont have that problem <.< losing the pokemon i have in pokebank would b really bad....

The problem I have with my 3DS is that it has so smuch dust in the connector pieces and crud on the bottom screen corner.

Use a compressed air can (can be found at Walmart) to clean the dust, and for the crud, just use something that won't scratch the screen badly, but still picks it off.

Also, can this topic be closed? Your question was already answered posts ago lol

But we're kind of still discussing.

This
I enjoy my standard one.

Oh. Didn't realize that. I'm not sure which is more sturdy-2DS or 3DS. It seems both have advantages, but I don't know. Yeah losing pokemon would suck. Good Luck!

Wait...so if you download a game on your SD card, and you have a NNID on your device, if your 3DS breaks, you lose that game?

You can call Nintendo Support, explain the situation, ask if they can do an account transfer to the new 3DS (they'll need some personal information that's saved onto the NNID), if all goes well, you should have access to your old NNID on the new 3DS and that SD card will then work on that again.

could also maybe get the 3ds repaired (by official nintendo)
probably cheaper than getting a new one depending on the damages

Mhmm, and if they ever have to, let's say, give you a new one because they're too lazy to repair it, they'll do a system transfer first (if you tell them when they contact you about the repair options)

Yeah your right! smilie I spent A LOT of money into those skylanders. But i'm not sure about the 3DS. If you think about that's only $100 under a Deluxe Wii U, and only $50 under a Basic Wii U. That's kind of ridiculous. I don't think the 3DS should be that much. The 3DS isn't THAT good. I don't even know for sure if I will buy one anyways. Even if I did, I think a smaller screen is fine with me. And isn't the XL for people with bigger hands or something anyways?
