The Nintendo Treehouse was unscripted. They were aiming to show as much as possible, but they couldn't get around to everything, especially since they were emphasising Smash Run.

"Pic of the day. For the first time ever, I present to you…the main menu for the 3DS version!! The icons are even animated. The design concept may look similar if you've played other games I've worked on. But we had a hard time making this one because…"



"The bottom screen displays pictures matching each mode! This was quite a task for the UI (User Interface) designers, but they made it happen. Kudos to them! You can tap the screen to look up additional info like how to play--complete with diagrams."

This menu confirms Streetpass functionality with Smash Bros. The "Challenge" mode looks to be the return of the wall of challenges from Brawl, and "Games and More" seems like the new name for the "Vault" from Brawl, with maybe some modes from "Solo" added in like Events and the campaign which doesn't fit anywhere else on the menu screen.



If "Games and More" is the "Vault" in disguise, than what features will come back? It already seems that Replays, The Album, and Trophies are all back, but will the others come through to the new game?

Can the 3ds version use that second analog stick attachment to work as a C- Stick

I don't know using Analog Stick + A button didn't feel natural so the C-Stick is pretty important

Maybe Games and more is minigames because we saw a game that had you bump the faces of other characters off a platform.

Nope, it only works with friends online, or locally. Not in With Anyone mode.

Source? They said SOME customization will be available online and it wouldn't make sense to make miis join the battle if your going to be limited to the ugly sample miis

Sakurai has already stated that you cannot fight Wii U players on the 3DS because that would require taking all of the stages from the Wii U version and putting down scaled versions of them in the 3DS version, and vice versa. That would take up way to much space on the 3DS version, and the stages wouldn't look good.

I don't think there are any "universal" stages, though. Even the stages that are in both versions have different designs depending on the version (see: Battlefield, Final Destination).

I don't know if anyone has already seen this, but I think we see an unannounced stage in the very first trailer.

Ah, so it looks they ARE taking the same approach as Brawl's music and using various arrangements of the theme we've heard in the trailers. Well, with any luck there won't be as many arrangements as Brawl's theme since there's no Subspace Emissary equivalent, so the music won't get as stale for me. XP
