It would have to be 100% upgraded, maxed out gold, both paths purchased, AND this 3x deal applied to it to be REMOTELY appealing to non collectors. I have a feeling this is a collector play only--to kinda compete with something like what DI is doing here:

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the backgrounds appear to be a continuous diorama...which is pretty neat. The Spyro picture continues in the Chop-Chop picture.

Yes. I have noticed that too. If we have more elite skylanders, I would like to form this puzzle and see what the whole backdrop looks like!

I highly recommend that you stay as far away from eBay preorders as possible. I lost about $20 because of that.

Those DI things are plastic. They can work for most skylanders, not Giants though.

From the Skylanders facebook page it looks like these are only 3x more powerful in Trap Team. That would explain why they are saying up to 3x as powerful.

I don't think you 'asked' or answered his question. I think he was asking if the Elite's came in a glass or plastic case. I'm sure it will be plastic. The glass would be more expensive to produce is more likely to break in shipping.

If you have the DI cases and the elites, I imagine they will look good next to each other.

If these sell, I expect all the Giants to get the same treatment next year.

What exactly, Rob--Eon's Elite? Sorry, we're all over the map here. I'm sure they look nice, just not $240 nice. I'd rather spend that money on new characters if I was prioritizing.

While they may look nice, they certainly may not be worth $30 for a figure you could get for $10... or even go to a used game store and pick up for $4. Again, Activision seems way more interested in the toy side of their franchise as opposed to the game portion. They even stated in a video how they look every year how to innovate their toys. The toys are their main concern because they can keep producing more and more, just to make even more money. Sorry, but as much as I was excited for this game when I saw the HUB and saw old characters back (with the hopes that heroics and other items I missed in SF will return), they do nothing to confirm that. They also don't do anything to give even the slightest bit in the way of answers to any of our gameplay questions.

Agreed. I don't care how nice they look in person - They're still flat out not worth it in the long run.

I will say that Activision may want to get on telling us about the actual game and give us some answers to our questions finally. Maybe spend less time making new lines of repainted figures we already have. I put some money down on the starter set, but I don't plan on adding any more until we get some real answers. I hope they don't think they can wait until late September to give us answers finally, because I for one have too many adult responsibilities to suddenly drop $75 ($100 if I want a dark set with a Kaos trap) on sudden notice. Sorry Acti, but I have car payments and student loans, just to name two of my many bills. Even if they make all my Skylander dreams come true and swear they'll engrave my name on some collectors box that was made just for me (probably because I spent the last six to eight months pointing out everything I disliked about Swap Force, thus making exactly my changes so that Trap Team wouldn't suck) I still won't be buying it with such short notice... clearly this overpriced repainted figures was a breaking point for me and what I felt like (during SSF) was just Activision caring about toys and money only. On a slightly more positive note for the elite ones, if the actual game is worth buying, I would actually consider the Spyro since he is my favorite (besides Boomer and Ghost Roaster). But those three would be the only ones though.

Moral of this rant: stop making all your announcements about your stupid new toys and focus your announcements on your actual game for once!

With that said, I will now appropriately dismount my veritable soapbox.

Last I heard (or to be more precise: paid attention to) people said they'd be $30, and $25 is really only saving $5. Even if they are only $25, that's still way more than what they are worth. However, I will agree that even double the price would still be too much.

i haven't seen anywhere else with them up for pre-order, only eb games australia, which is strange, they usually are on the US Gamestop first.

LOL! Don't get me started on common core. As a teacher, I'm glad I'm not in the public schools where they're forced to make our kids dumber with that crap. But that's neither here nor there. I'd be more than willing to buy a Spyro if it were maybe $15 and the Trap Team game made buying figures worth it.

I'd be fine with $20 given it doubles as a display case, but yeah.

He's one of my predictions for Elites, also one of my all-time faves from SSA

I'd prefer Stumpy, as he's not as exposed as Stealth Elf. But I expect the later.

These don't seem too interesting to me... I'm not much of a collector, though i'd love to have em, they just aren't appealing. Bedsides, Are the 3x the power supposed to be so amazing?... All the games are way too easy already (except nightmare mode)

The 3x doesn't mean anyone unless your brain stem is severed from nervous system making difficulty of playing the game VERY difficult.
