Spyro looks wonderful. Too bad Chop-Chop is the undead Elite, though, I would've preferred Cynder. But then again, I would've preferred if all the dragons were elite ;P

BTW, strange that it didn't say anything about the purple translucent base (as opposed to green/orange/blue/red for SSA/SG/SSF/STT respectively)

Maybe it's just for the Elites, but maybe they're releasing some other figures/games not related to STT?

Where can you get them in the UK? Hopefully i can get my hands on these but theyll be extremely rare to find

I'm hoping that Zook gets the Life Elite, but I am pretty sure Stealth Elf will get the honor, despite being one of the strongest characters already.

Nahh they wouldn't do Bash over Terrafin. Terrafin is in commercials all the time and was even in the Tall Tails teaser back in Giants as well as having the classic line, "Dat guy owes me 5 dollars!" Bash rarely gets publicity and has 1 less known repose than Terrafin. Although if you count legendarys the they are equal. Also Terrafin has been in a Battle and Adventure Pack.

If they are going for the "signature" character for each element, Earth will almost certainly be Prism Break. He is the one they have reposed over and over for every game and used frequently on merchandise (although Terrafin and Bash are some as well). The only "signature" figure that is in danger of being upstaged these days is Eruptor by Hot Dog. People love that little guy (me included).

It's a good idea, but poorly implemented (in my opinion). We had talked about a "premium" series a while back on here, but as a way to get older, hard to get figures. Spyro and Chop Chop are not, nor have ever been "hard to get". They could also do this as a way to do all variants. This is just a collectors item, not an avenue for getting things people don't have. The hardcore collectors will love it though - I might pick up one if Prism Break is the Earth choice (he was my first one played and still a favorite).

I beg to differ. Spyro is still the Magic Rep. I'd be very surprised (And PISSED) If they dropped him for Pop Fizz,even though I adore the Gremlin.

Very interesting series, indeed. Bringing back old characters in a premium package. And three times more powerfull. Better than a series 3 or 4. Gill Grunt will probably be the water Skylander in this series. What makes me think that Tidal Wave Gill Grunt is even more unnecessary and superfluous...

Summary: Purple base plate (not mentioned in article, but shown in pictures), gold elemental base, improved paint job (though I don't see much difference in Chop-Chop), 8 characters (elements weren't mentioned, but it's extremely likely to be one of each) - only Spyro and Chop-Chop confirmed, but confirmed to only be characters from the original game, not Giants or Swap-Force. And they'll appear the same in-game (in every game?), but deal 3 times as much damage.

You know, it bothers me but...weren't the bloomin' "Legendaries" supposed to be the elite of the elite when it came to the Skylanders? At least those counted as individual entities. This is something you'd release on an anniversary, not when half your audience is on the fence with your next game still!

I really hope the game based revealed coming later tonight are more interesting and productive. Here again this is just more mindless churning out of variants/reposes/recycling. I dont need another figure of Spyro that doesnt provide anything except more damage. or Chop Chop, or anyone else.

Not at all. Legendaries according to their Lost Islands bios are just golems of sorts of the original best 'landers of a certain group. Probably,after the originals leave, they're the ones supposed to replace them, not become some sort of elite.

Lost Islands might say that, but I thought the original lore of the Legendaries pre-app games was that they were elites.

It's the same bio as the SkylandersGame videos for them, and those are about them being statues as well. As far as I remember there's only been that bio about them.
