I'd say 2.0, but that's just because I'm not as interested in Trap Team as most others....IDK, this time, nothing has WOWED me yet....Maybe a full poster release has a CHANCE to change my opinion....But otherwise, Im sticking with 2.0. Also because I want to play as Venom, Nova, and Maleficent UBER BADLY!!!


In your case, I'd say go with either one wows you most right before they come out. Since in your situation you get both anyway, it's not as important a decision as me, who will most likely only get 1 by the end of the year. Maybe I'll get Trap Team at some point next year....

I've been a Skylanders guy from launch day of SSA and I'm WAY more excited for DI 2.0 than Trap Team. The new gimmick doesn't really do anything for me in STT, maybe I'm just burned out on Skylanders and their lack of content. I finally got my last Swaplander for SFF and I played with Doom Stone for about 15 minutes before getting entirely bored doing the same old same old and turned it off.

Personally I LOVE the anime stylin of the new Marvel characters and I cannot wait to dive into DI 2.0. I also feel better spending money on DI because my kids continued to play DI LONG after we all became bored with SSF.

go get Disney Infinity 2.0 first.

I'd go with the franchise that still has new downloadable content/levels 9 months after launch, hint it's not Skylanders.

DI is ADDING new capabilities to existing 1.0 toys in 2.0 by giving them new skill tree capabilities, Skylanders would have made you buy them all over again as series 2 to give you something new. Quite different philosophies I think.

If you are planning on getting both eventually, i would base my decision on the availability of figures in the area where you are.

My local area has always had a full stock of DI stuff, i'm not sure if it didn't sell well, or that they were just well prepared and well stocked, while skylanders on the other hand is good for the first week or so of every wave release, but after that there is usually only a selection of 3 or 4 different guys, and there has been none of the wave 1 figures at all since the first week.

So for that reason, i'll be getting getting trap team stuff straight away, and probably get the DI stuff in the in-between skylanders waves times, not on the day of wave releases as i did for the first DI.

I'd also be worth waiting to see what is in wave one of both, coz i am super pumped for Venom as well, so if he is in wave 1, i'll be grabbing it as soon as i see it, but if there is only some meh-ish characters in the first wave for either, go with the other.

Infinity but since I don't like ether that is the one I would go with

Disney Infinity, it seems to be a lot better than Trap Team, I myself quickly get bored of Skylander games due to low replay values, not with Infinity.Both Infinity 2.0 and Amiibo seem pretty cool.

I have the same issue as you, one launch, and one christmas.
I'm getting DI first. It seems to have incredibly more content that will not bore me and leave me game-less. Right now trap team is awesome and all, but not awesome ENOUGH to have me counting down the days until it's release. I might still grab figures if there is a release day sale however, and have them look pretty on my shelf.

If you have enough for more figures, get Trap Team. If not, get DI2.0.

Well, which are you personally more excited for? Between SF and DI1, which do you enjoy playing more? Try to figure out why and see how much you, personally, might like the additions in the new games based on what you've seen of them and what you played of their predecessors. I'd go with DI2 myself because I'm more interested in seeing what's changed there, even though I like Skylanders a lot.

Also judge what's coming out at release for both, think about which you're more interested in. If stuff you want most for one game is only going to be out post-release, I'd suggest waiting on that game. (I.E. Stitch is probably going to be a post-launch character for DI2)
