Yeah, because it's totally a good idea to let spambots run amok for the sake of saving a few minutes to validade the account. I doubt the mods want to waste time banning and deleting posts whenever one of these shows up undetected.

I have been on other forums where activation takes a second. It's not a bad idea tho.

Maybe except...

1. Trolls and/or banned users (plus more) can make, like, 20 troll accounts at once.

2. Doesn't it take about 5 minutes to activate?
