I understand. I'd much rather have a starter pack with more characters that are not variants. I just don't like (most) variants. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I personally would love another special edition starter pack, but I'd prefer it have a different theme than dark. I'll buy it again if dark turns out to be correct, but imagine something else like a Jade Starter Pack or something all new. Ruby Edition? I guess they'd have to make a little storyline for it too like last year's.

I made my own ideal list for a dark edition:

Dark Snap Shot
Dark Wallop
Dark Food Fight
Dark S3 Pop Fizz
Kaos Trap (Assuming it's in Wave 1)

It's almost the same as the Swap Force one. Two gimmick skylanders, one new skylander, a repose, and also a trap. I chose not to think of two reposes because of the trap. And the Kaos trap absolutely fits in style with the pack. The pack may be a bit low in value but good if you want to trap the main antagonist of the game.

Passing on the dark edition once again. I feel like the dark colors pretty much suck the life out of the colorful characters in Skylanders, and makes them a lot more boring, visually. I most definitely prefer the regular versions of the characters that were in the SWAP Force dark edition.

Just my opinion though.

If it doesn't have a dark S3 Pop Fizz, then any dark figures they have will immediately be less awesome in my eyes. They have a great opportunity to make an awesome looking dark figure if this starter set turns out to be true.

That's why I chose S3 Pop Fizz as a dark variant for my list of predictions. I think this variant would look awesome for the figure's style.

Dark Pop Fizz would be awesome, especially since his Toy Form is in Beast Mode.

I also think a dark fizzy frenzy pop fizz would be awesome!

I think it looks great! I'm happy it doesn't come with a repose, that's what put me off getting the Dark Edition for Swap Force.

How much more does it cost than the regular in the UK (in Pounds)? If it costs £20-25 pounds more, I'll change my pre-order. Can I get it from GAME, too?

you should expect the same price as earlier released swap force dark edition.

Actually....if I'm gonna try and get an Xbox this year....I may not be able to get it...

Dark Wildfire looks absolutely stunning. Kaos trap is no shock, but nice to have it confirmed.

uhhm......So the Dark Starter Pack is a Wii U exclusive???? I dont see it for any other console. Many people want to play as Kaos, so I HIGHLY doubt the Kaos trap itself will be exclusive. Not preordering this anyhoo, theres stockpiles of Dark Edition to this day at gamestop.

Aww, no dark beast Pop Fizz. Well that's a rather large disappointment. Would rather have him as a dark figure over Food Fight because he would have been the best looking figure for a dark variant. Oh well.

Dude, you are so right about the Dark Edition coming. I assume GameStop will be selling these like they did with the SF version.

I can't be the only one looking at that and feeling that $100 is too much for what you're getting. This just feels all sorts of wrong.

The Kaos Trap looks even better than its first concept. It now has silver markings where Kaos' symbol and face tattoo are. I will definitely buy this. I've always been on the "dark side".

Agreed. Last year we got 5 dark figures for our $100. This year only three, plus three little traps. Yes, people will say that each trap lets you play as a villain, but look at it from a production cost: we got five figures and you know a figure costs more to produce than a tiny piece of plastic trap. So I think they are giving us less for our money than last year, especially if none of these traps are going to be worth squat come the new game.

I'm going to guess that this will be £74.99 again like the last time. I'm a little surprised to see another, since they sold almost as poorly as Epic Mickey 2 in my local store.

I like this, but after the original Dark Edition dropped from £74.99 to just £34.99 some months later I'm not sure I want to drop money on it right away.

I'm pretty sure it'll also be available for other systems as well, including the XBOX One and PS4. But I am getting the Wii U version for obvious reasons.

The solid gold is a bit much but I love this black to silver fade on wildfire and foodfight
