So far we have 4 confirmed Life Villains: Chompy Mage, Broccoli Guy, Shield Shredder, and a Sheep. However, in the Academy, we also seen a green Villain who might be life (I can't think of any other Element, anyway) called Tussle Sprout. If he's life, then that means we might have more than 5 Villains per Element.

Probably AT LEAST 5 villains per element.

40+ villains= 5 villains x 8 elements

Not counting Kaos, variants and special ones.

My guess about traps and villains

6 villains per element, thus 6 sculpts for each element.
3 traps of different elements for each elemental sculpt.
A total of 16 elemental sculpts, plus the Kaos trap.

8 elements * 6 villains per element = 48 villains
16 sculpts * 3 traps per sculpt = 48 traps
Adding Kaos, a total of 49 villains/traps

This system would also allow 1 trap of each sculpt (2 from every element), without having fewer or less traps of certain elements. I prefer it when things like these are evenly distributed, which has been the case for all previous games in terms of figures/elements ratio and most recently swappers/movement ratio. Hopefully it's still like that, but with the 2 extra cores (which I'm really curious and worried about), they might be doing something uneven with the traps as well.

Isn't the sheep just a demonstration in level 1 that shows how the traps work? But There's also another villain named Tusselsprout who I think is in life

A sheep has been confirmed as a Villain. There's a picture on the All We Know Thread.

Yeah, I'd say there will be at least five per element.
