Gothic is a type or religion, some emos are just not part of that religion.

Oh ok! I was under the assumption that both emos and goths were just people who are depressed and where dark clothing.

Goths are badass, emos are pussies.
No, I'm kidding. In all honesty, though, Goths seem to be rebels against society and embrace darkness because they feel they shouldn't be associated with the corruption of the mainstream populace. Emos, on the other hand, are typically distraught about flaws they find in themselves and the world, and they relieve this pain by self-harming, physically, mentally, and emotionally. |
