I would rather spend 300 gems on Gigantus but i wont complain if i get a giant house from the wishing well.

Giants work just great in the Sanctuaries .

We like Gigantus. It's a bit of a boost--we leveled up into 13 pretty quickly. Plus the Vault of secret mission gives just as much gold/hero points for the same(ish) price as the 22-hour mission. Perfect for overnight and then you can still use the giants through the day

Yes, but houses produce gems, which help you get more houses and also companions, such as Gigantus, faster. I don't think you can make better purchases than the houses.

Absolutely right! I currently don't use the sanctuaries or adventure balloons at all, except for quests and leveling up new skylanders. Admittedly, I have all of the available character houses plus one Hall of Legends for each Legendary (great because they don't even cost gems), two bird houses, two scout HQs, two cadette HQs, four Dark Houses, five Dragon Lairs and the Molekin Mine so the gem production from all of that is usually around 100 gems per day. It took me quite a while to get to this point, but getting the houses as they become available is quite a help and they don't require energy to use.

OP, they aren't on offer in my game. Are they supposed to be, or are you just asking if they are worth it?

I get a fair amount of gems from sanctuaries . I got 3 gems today . The gem payout is no better or worse then hall of legends . My main source of gems is Sugarbats .

We aren't completely levelled up--and with getting Ol' Mac just recently started being able to run full sanctuaries full time. At the time we got Gigantus, we didn't have any character houses. We get most of our gems from sanctuaries, chests and bats. We still need to get to the point where we can upgrade the summoning stone.

We used to be so cash/potion poor all the time that buying companions seemed the way to go as opposed to houses.

But the point appears moot, as they aren't on offer for us, either.

Hall of Legends can generate up to 5 gems per run every 6 hours. I have 14 of them for all the legendaries and I average I'd say about 3-5 of them coming up gems a cycle. It's a tremendous source of gems.

All four games here have the offer regardless of whether we own the houses.

Hopefully with time zone differences everyone will have the offer but if not reboot the app.

It was just a time zone issue. You can pretty much count on that when you see new offer stuff popping up. They're here now.

Is it true that sidekicks can use their counterpart houses?
I read somewhere that the Tree-Rex house could be used by Barkley & Gnarly Tree Rex as well as regular tree rex. We have Thumpling and would like to know.

Yes that is correct. Barkley, gnarly, thumpling, eye small, etc. work in the houses

If you run Sanctuary missions, and you don't use swap force characters in your Sanctuaries, it's best to save your giants for the first slot as that is a guaranteed gold slot and you can take advantage of the Gigantus bonus. So for the four giants with minis, it's better to use them in the houses. If you don't use your giants in the Sanctuaries or send them on balloon missions, then use them in their houses instead as you'll get teh Gigantus bonus when the houses reward gold.

Thats my Giants primary job . I dont have a Thumpback but i do have two Wash Bucklers so i use one of them in the water sanctuary .

I still think Cynder should be allowed to use Skeletal Cynder's hut. Foo!

None of the alter ego houses can be used by anyone other than the alt. Just part of what makes them special, I guess.

I just realized my advice is a little skewed towards experienced players who have Gigantus (I think you have to pay gems for him, right?). Even without Gigantus, Giants are good in the first slot of sanctuaries due to their 25% bonus. Of course in that case minis are equally good so it wouldn't matter which way you go.

Did you get a Skeletal Cynder Hut out of the wishing well ?

You could buy it with gems back last October I think.

I bought Skeletal Cynder's hut back when we were still getting those random daily offers. It was shortly after I had started playing, and didn't know the alt ego houses were stricter than giant houses, but I picked up a few huts at half cost. I've had my eye out for her ever since, hehe.

The Giant Huts quest where awesome. The give me 600 + 700 + 1000 gold as reward but costs me like 10.00 gold to fulfill the goals :-)

A single gem would have been nice.

I dont see whats the big deal about a 13 percent discount . Thats almost full price .

The fact that they are available at all is the big deal. The discount, however small, is just a bonus.
