Actually, the exact quote was "looks like we're near the bottom of our stash of newcomer videos". Not that they were running out of newcomers period, as they can still be unlockable. Plus, veterans don't get revealed by trailer normally. The only veterans that were revealed in a trailer were Sonic and Charizard (and the initial E3 2013 characters, but they didn't have their own dedicated ones, they were all characters that would make obvious returns).

Ness was part of the original 12. I wouldn't see a reason not to bring him in the game.

I was expecting a ssb4 announcement after melee finals at EVO.

Doubt it, they didn't announce all the secret newcomers and veterans before Brawl, so why would they do it here?

If that's the case, then there's going to be A LOT of characters.

Not confirmed as a hazard yet. Sakurai didn't say " Ridley is another boss on Pyrosphere"

I'm not sure chrom was confirmed as a playable character, he didn't have an introduction really and only seemed to appear at the end, possibly as an assist trophy, I'm not sure

Chrom seems to be a part of Robin's Final Smash, and Lucina appears to be an alt skin for Marth.

I wonder what that means for the Gematsu leak.

I guess that I'm the only one who has no clue who Chrom, Robin, and Lucina are.

Waiting patiently for another EarthBound character to be announced, as it was MOTHER 2's 20th anniversary recently, and they've already made some Japanese merch for it.

I expect their to be at least two to three more new characters revealed since we are at the end of them basically.

They still have what around two to three months to reveal everything else unless they go the dlc route for new characters.

I question the legitimacy of that post, but I digress...

Lucas could be a costume of Ness, and you can change Ness' moves into Lucas' moveset. Couldn't use Lucas online though sadly.

They really need to change Ness' Final Smash to PK Rockin', badly.

There was some gameplay at the end, and some people think he was part of Robin's FS, but I think he was just fighting next to her. And he didn't have a "Chrom Slashes In" intro or anything, but like I said. He could just be revealed later today.
