The empty spot on my dresser where your cage used to be is depressing to look at. Some would yell "dumbass, get over it, he's a ****ing gerbil, rodents die after a couple years, nobody gives a **** about them". Those people can go **** themselves. You may have only been my pet for about two years, but it feels like you've been there forever. When I wasn't home, it didn't affect me as much, but now I see just how lonely it's going to be here without you. You may have been a rodent, but you were more than that to me. You were my pet, my friend, and a member of my family. I'll miss hearing you run on your wheel while I try to fall asleep (despite how annoying it was). I'll miss opening the door to my room and seeing you look up from your nest. I'll miss you.
