I have no solid opinion on it though.

It's pretty hypocritical of greenpiece to make a video opposing this but buy a Lego set of a Shell company and oil to flood the legos. I like that they're trying to help the environment, but making this video was not the way to approach it.

Lego is one of the best selling toys on the market, so they can't and won't end their partnership with Shell anytime soon. And Shell won't go away anytime soon because oil is needed for human life until we can find a good alternative. And making a video trying to go against this but at the same time buying the legos to make this video as opposed to actually taking actions is really hypocritical. This shows that they only claim to care for the environment, otherwise they would have actually done something rather than make a video on YouTube of all places. A petition isn't enough. From the comments I've read, a majority of people are against what greenpiece did to make this video.

and Shell is polluting children's minds? That's one of the stupidest statements I've ever heard. Because I know tons of children who will buy a Shell-related Lego set and start supporting Shell instead of, I dunno, ACTUALLY PLAYING WITH THE TOYS AND NOTHING ELSE.

anyways, that's my input on the situation.

Lego being a best selling toy makes no real difference about their partnership to Shell. Greenpeace is saying that because of their products being best sellers, Lego should be more responsible with who they make partnerships with, and end it with Shell.

The idea for me is that while oil is currently necessary, most gas companies are simply choosing to invest into getting more oil or fracking, rather than investing in finding/developing that alternative.
We don't have a fully viable alternative yet (though we're getting there). But we will never have that alternative if we choose to just invest in fossil fuels.
