Hey guys, have a simple question here with hopes to turn into a discussion. I began Skylanders during the first game, but became uninterested and fell out of the franchise with Giants. Now I am back full swing into Swap Force and soon to be Trap Team. I am curious though. Which Skylander Giants characters are rare? Why are they so rare?

I have finished my SSA collection, rounding off my SF collection, and I am not looking to start collecting Giants figures before Trap Team comes out. Just want to be on the lookout for those rare characters!

I think lcopley is referring to non-chase variants, but idk.
And I got all of them but S2/LC when Giants was the most recent game. So idk how it is anymore.

You are correct. I do not go out of my way or spend a ridiculous amount of money on chase variants. I am mainly focused more on the non-variant Skylanders. I do have some variants, but they aren't a priority of mine. Is S2 Bash rare? He is considered a Giants Skylander, correct? That is, orange base?

I never had trouble seeing S2 Bash, but I've heard lots of others did. Yes, orange base refers to Giants.

Off the top of my head. Skylander Giants figures that seem to be rare in my area (Jersey Shore) include Slam Bam, Double Trouble, Bash, Flameslinger(although I have recently seen him more), and lightcore Shroomboom.
