"Any artist who doesn't want to join YouTube's new ad-free music service will be scrubbed from the site entirely, the company said on Tuesday. The service, which will show you ad-free songs for a small fee, has been in the works for a while, but some artists are not happy with the financial arrangements YouTube is proposing."

As if artist don't have enough money, even when they aren't a group or performing anymore they receive royalties which earns them more than media sales.

This is really going to hurt YouTube's viewership. People don't want to pay for something that is already free.

They most likely have to either conform to YouTube's demands or go elsewhere.

It's still up in the air though, so who knows. Hopefully YouTube will change their minds.

Youtube to MP3 converters will most likely be used more than previously.

Coincidentally announced the same week Amazon starts up its ad-free music streaming service. Yet another instance of a business existing to turn a profit. And that's what YouTube is when it gets down to it: a business. <.>

I bet this'll be the downfall of YouTube. As if there weren't enough companies that make you pay to listen to music.

Uh... Hopefully they don't charge for independent bands like JT Machinika or NSP. That would REALLY suck!
