Well, I tried getting an editor program that came in the SkymodderFinal.rar file seen in here on my new computer with Windows 8.1 64-bit but I had no luck. I prefer using the GUI and I have no idea on how to get the command prompt version to work. On my old computer with Windows 7 64-bit that died a while back, I got it working with the GUI. I need the editor working on my new computer because my old computer that I had it working on died, and I need to have it working so I could make backups of my skylanders and change the upgrade paths if I needed to. Even after installing the Spyro Portal drivers included in the SkymodderFinal.rar, I had no luck in getting it to work. I'm using the SSA 3DS portal and all it did when I plugged it into my computer via the included USB cable was dim and brighten in blue for a few minutes, then the light was a solid blue, and then the portal went off after a minute or two. I tried backing up my smilie to my computer, but when I tried to back my figure up, it seemed that it didn't do anything, as I didn't see a .bak file in the folder the program was sitting in. And before you ask, a .bak file is the type of file that the editor makes when you back up a figure and can write to a figure. I doubt this is the place for such a thread, but I really need help.

Have you tried my Windows GUI version?

That was designed for modern windows with 64 bit etc and doesn't require any drivers (uses HID). You can backup and restore your entire collection but editing is not a feature (no path swapping).

I would be interested to hear your feedback on how it works in Windows 8.1. There should be a thread about it in here somewhere with links to downloads (find the latest one) and info on how to make it work.

Well, I kinda liked being able to quicken the level-up process for my Swappers, as I don't have the 3DS version of SSF.

I tried your tool and it recognized my figures beautifully! For some reason though, figure saving seems to always fail and for the bottom halves of my smilie and smilie, your program says it's a "dark" variant, despite the fact that it recognizes the top half of smilie as the "Quickdraw" Variant and the top half of smilie as the "Enchanted" Variant. And putting the figures on the portal does add the figure to the database.
