I will say this first, if this is the wrong area, I'm sorry. Also I am not attempting to sale here, just need some opinions.
I am facing a point where I need to sell my Skylanders collection, to help get some money for some medical bills for my daughter. I have all three games, 2 portals, and Skylanders crossing each game. My main question is, would it be more profitable to sell as a large lot, or individually?
I appreciate your help.

I would split them up. not every listing has to be an individual skylander, but it would at least look better than if you sold it all at once for a high price. Also maybe you could do an element pack or something where you sell around 3 of the same element, along with the individual listings.

I agree with TrapShadow. Split them up and try to get as much as you can out of them. It is difficult to value Skylanders in bulk, in my opinion.

Agreed, it will be difficult to sell as one big lot this late in the game.

What I used to do is bundle some of the corresponding variants, such as Blue Bash and Red Drill Sergeant into one auction. I placed starter pack figures into one auction, so like, Spyro/GillGrunt/TriggerHappy were in one auction while TreeRex/Cynder/JetVac were in another. I kept the HTF figures separated into single auctions, that way there's higher demand for that one, and kept most of the ETF figures in elemental bundles.

If you bundle them it will be more efficient in terms of fees (ebay) and postage etc.
Selling singles seems to be a total waste of time as the return is almost nothing. You may want to check out the prices at local shops that take in Skylanders (gamestop?) for the non-rare low value figures to save wasting time selling them yourself. |

You could try to sale your variants and other rare Skylanders on eBay, since they will bring in more money. And then as Pyrofer suggested, take the rest to a local shop. I guess it all depends on how much time you want to put into selling them.

Don't know about Gamestop, but in my locale we have a chain of stores called "Vintage Stock" which sells used skylander figures. They typically only pay 50 cents to $1/ea. for common skylanders.

Our game stores here pay $2 for ANY Skylander and then sell them for $7.99 or 2 for $12 no matter what the figure is.

A lot of GameStop stopped selling used Skylanders (Like mine - Stopped right before Giants was released ). I did not realize there are a few GS that still sells used Skylanders.

Find an old record shop or game store. If you don't want the hassle, that is your best bet. However, you will probably get more money from eBay.

I will probably be doing the ebay route, putting them in small Lots (like 4 Magic Skylanders together).
Now one more question. Best way to ship them, to make sure they get there safe with no damage.

There are multiple ways to ship them. It all depends if you are going to combine shipping if eBayers buy multiple characters from you. I would make sure they are bubble wrapped and secure within a box. You don't want them moving around while USPS is throwing them in the back of their 18-wheelers. If you sell them individual, you can always make your own box. I bought several characters from an individual on eBay who made his own small individual boxes for each Skylander. They were bubble wrapped and fit snug. Of course, that is more time consuming, but may end up being the cheaper route.

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions! I am currently selling two massive collections on EBAY. One of loose figures, games, and accessories. The second collection is all boxed and brand new figures including the silver and gold guys, and many other exclusives. Because of the advice, I have dropped my prices by 50%, so hopefully I can get these sold in the next few days.
