If you mean what I think, then I agree with you. As FGTV pointed out, the characters can already be playable in SSB without buying and using the figures first, unlike Skylanders where if you want to use certain characters, you can't unless you buy their figures. So that's why I think Amiibo is better.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy playing the first three Skylanders games. But I've always liked the Nintendo franchises (especially Mario and Pokemon) better than Skylanders, so that's why I'm willing to give up buying Skylanders in favour of these new figures.

like toon link would not work with mario party, toad tracker, mario kart, or yoshi wooly world. so far it will only work with smash. so people should buy amiibos from the mario series so their toys can be used with many other games than smash.

DARK PIT 4 AMIIBO

I'm mostly interested in any ghost-type Pokemon Amiibos and the potential for getting our Miis made. I want all of my Miis made. Though I might also get a Rosalina one.

Rosalina + Yoshi.. Almost for sure getting those. And this will probably lead me to get the new SSB. And probably a few other figures. Blarg

With a September release date we're past the point of a decision. The game's within months of going gold, the final touches are starting to be applied. If they do make it, I want the playable characters to have figures. But they already said that SSBU will be the first game with figures released, but then Mario Kart 8 so...

Captain Toad will get a figure, it just won't be a Smash one.

The base of each figure tells you what series it's based on. This probably also means characters like Mario will have variants so you can get their figure based on what game you like best.

There are no new characters seen, but amiibos were confirmed for every Smash fighter.
