Lately a trademark was filed for Delta Emerald by Nintendo. With E3 around the corner do you think that perhaps they are going to release a third remake at the same time as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?

I actually have mixed feelings about this. While I do like the idea of more games in general (and that Rayquaza may get a form or mega like Groudon and Kyogre) but with the release being likely the same day the ORAS comes out, the price will be quite huge. (120$ sounds like a horror movie for my wallet)

Thoughts on this?

P.S. when does corocoro leak?

I'm gonna kill this theory before anyone comes in and starts yelling at you. As I said before in the Pokémon topic, Nintendo, Creatures, and GameFreak are only covering their bases. They also own the trademarks for "Pokémon Gray," and a "Pokémon Water Blue." This is likely just to pin down the trademarks so A) they could chose to do something with them in the distant future, B) to stop a patent troll company from claiming the trademark and causing Nintendo legal issues, or C) to give them the ability to take legal action against someone who DOES try to do something with those concepts. Because the United States patent office is a terrible bureaucratic monster. >.>

OBJECTION

It has a whole press conference to itself, it's not going to be a remake (unless we see something of huge scale, like a retro Uprising).

Using the upcoming E3 as an excuse is the oldest trick in the book. Let me ask you this: if Nintendo planned a Delta Emerald, why the heck would they reveal ORAS a month prior to E3? People already know those games exist now. Whereas, if The Pokémon Company said "We've got a huge announcement coming at E3," don't you think more people would want to tune in Nintendo's media event? There would have been a much better surprise if ORAS was revealed at E3 with an Emerald remake. And Nintendo doesn't want to risk alienating players by releasing 3 versions at once. So it's very unlikely that it will show up. <.<

Just stop..... As nice as an Emerald remake would be, it's not going to happen. Like HIR said, it's most likely that they are jsut covering their bases as the licensed Pokemon Grey & Pokemon Water Blue never came.

Also, it would be rather odd for Emerald to be the first extra, tertiary, or whatever you wish to call it game to get a remake as they skipped on making a Yellow or Crystal remake. Heck, they even skipped on remaking Blue to complete the original Gen 1 trilogy of games.

Besides, who's to say Rayquaza won't get a new form/mega in addition to Kyogre and Groudon? Rayquaza was obtainable in the original Ruby and Sapphire, it's not like they are just going to leave it out of the game. Rayquaza will likely appear with a new appearence like Kyogre and Groudon's new designs on the box art, it just means that the artwork for Rayquaza's won't be on a game box.
