Activision should make a Quick Draw Rattle Shake and Jade Fire Kraken (in game variants) double pack, take our money and call it a day.

They won't, that would wrap it up too quickly (our goal, not theirs - they don't want people to feel "done"). They have months to go before the next game, and they need "Skylanders" to be on people's minds. If I had my guess, I'd say Jade Fire Kraken in mid to late June, Quickdraw Rattle Shake in early to mid August (or maybe even the reverse of that). If it isn't in people's minds, they aren't thinking "pre-order Trap Team", and pre-orders drive initial orders. Otherwise they get the initial rush after the announcement, then everyone waits until September to pre-order (after initial orders and exclusive contracts and space allotments are determined) or people just buy when it comes out and don't pre-order. With new releases (even if variants), they will get a bump in pre-orders from people deciding to go ahead.

Before common pre-ordering came around, it was hard for game makers and retailers to determine first day interest. And Skylanders really needs that interest because it makes a difference in whether they get a small section or a big one in stores.

This is why I'm surprised how many figures came out in quick succession toward the end. Back around February, there had been some articles like the one below about Skylanders staggering figure releases throughout the entire year. That didn't play out at all.

I have been around enough toys to know when they give double packs and gift sets to know they give you at least one unpopular toy .

Or quickdraw rattle shake could have been a frito lay exclusive. in this part of the game i wouldn't rule that out either since they have an association with them it's very possible they don't release him at a later date. It could be not the only thing acti is testing out with the games now where some figures aren't going to go retail.

Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon.

Well, they did the exclusive thing with Gnarly Tree Rex last year (in the Wii), then around August time they decided they needed another new figure to sell. They did the smart thing this year by making the console pack in a non-ingame figure, so they could have their special for the WiiU, and not have people that don't want to buy a new console for all the ingame figures simply be out of luck.

I just have this feeling that Quickdraw is going to start looking really attractive to release when they are looking down the barrel of a few months with next to no Skylanders orders. It's in the game, they have the package design, it's ready to go - just a manufacturing order away.

Really hard for me to believe they would not release an in game variant. They have never done that before. I could see it happening if Quick Draw was not an in game variant.

What is different with double pack swappers is that they cost the same as two individual swappers. It is not like the triple packs where it is cheaper than buying three individual characters.

i paid for a new wii for a new gnarly tree rex. when it came out in a single pack, i screamed. now i paid $55.00 for quickdraw rattleshake and it came. so activivsion better not make a single pack of QD rattleshake. but, they should make another contest, i mean, give em' another chance, after all, DARN EBAY DIABLOS GOT 20 OF EACH!!! but only 5100+ ???
make more toys for bob!!!

That's minor compared to the guys that went in on the green Gil Grunt when he was very rare, then TRU gave them out for free in January. Those went for hundreds of dollars. Anytime you go in on EBay for a high priced rare figure, you run the risk of Activision deciding to release a bunch more of them. It's part of the risk in speculation. But, there also could be reward, because if they don't release Quickdraw, the price might go higher (or not) - then you would be glad you got in early.

While I wish Activision was more up-front with this info, it's not anyone's fault but your own that you spent mad bucks for plastic toys. You made the choice, rather than being patient or choosinjg to do without.

I DO hope they re-release him for the general population. Although I wouldn't be against making him slightly different (say, fixing the color of his gun), but the more folks who can enjoy the game, the better.

For the record, I have a QuickDraw Rattle Shake and I bought (well, was given as a Valentine's Day present, but it was from my wife... so it came out of the same pool of money either way...) a blue Wii bundle for Gnarly.

I also bought the blue Wii bundle for Gnarly. I kept Gnarly for myself and the blue Wii was for my wife. I replaced Gnarly with a regular tree rex bought from ebay and gave the game to a boy who wasn't going to have much of a Christmas without a little "santa magic" Also I gave some friends my old Wii since they wanted but didn't have one. I admit to being a little bummed when the Gnarly single pack was released but I'm happy I didn't know it was gonna happen. Ultimately it was worth it to see others happy with how things were spread around.

I want Quickdraw, if they release a single I'll buy it. If they don't then oh well, I guess I can do without.

In the Skylanders Vault for iPad, not a single Frito Lay Skylander appears - except QuickDraw. That would seem to suggest he will receive a release.

They should make him a Trap Team pre-order bonus, but not put it in shelves (like Lightcore Hex). This way, fans of the series get him, less scalper get him and it feels less unfair for those who won it with the Frito Lay contest.

I would like to see quickdraw come out. Anyone know if a regular single of punk shock is still coming or was easter it? I do feel there should be one more wave of figure assortment to come out, maybe one with just new corelanders only.

If they did doubles it would be jade with quick, it would be with some figure already out. Possibly hoot loop with jade etc..

Only reason I don't see him as a pre-order bonus is because there are some of us who were able to obtain one during the Frito contest. I can honestly see Jade being the bonus with Quick Draw being put for retail release. At least, maybe that's just the way I'd prefer to see it. I already have my Quick Draw that I won from the contest, I wouldn't want to be stuck with a second one if I order the new game. At least with a Jade bonus, they'll know everyone doesn't have it yet like the LC Hex.

i know activivsion, they won't make a single pack by 90% without a contest.
anyway, that's sweet of your wife!

EDIT: as an example for a contest, FL might ask for 10 skylander trivia questions, so the scalpers have a worse chance. that would be smart for a chance of QD rattle shake.

Again, not exactly scalpers, but if they know their skylander knowledge, they would have the same chance as everyone.
