So is anyone else here still getting this game? I have the Limited Edition pre-ordered.

While I am looking forward to the game, I have a few issues with it already from what I've seen of it but overall it's nice to have a first party Wii U game that will actually have online play.

I object to Balloon Battle. Having it take place in hectic arenas is part of what made it so much fun back on the N64 and GCN. But the battle mode was never my primary reason for playing Mario Kart, so I'm not that disappointed. The courses, old and new, still look like a ton of fun (or mayhem for some of the shorter ones, like Rainbow Road). Still, at the moment, I can't get it due to lack of Wii U and money to get a Wii U. <.>

My friend got the game early yesterday so I'm going over to play today

My main issue is that the game does not utilise the GamePad for split screen. I also can't understand why they don't have an invite button online.

I have a few other issues like this that I hope they work on patching.

Im Actually not getting Trap Team so i can get a Wii-U and buy all the wii-u games i want (which is only 9, and mario kart 8 is one of them). Im saving up for black friday in hopes of a price drop on the console/games. But if i save up enough money and its months away from black friday, i know ill get impatient and just buy the console/games. hahaha

My brother and I just preordered it. ^.^

Picked up mine at Target, no free Wheel (meh it looked like the cheap kind anyway), but as soon as I logged into Club Nintendo to register my code, it goes under maintenance

Agreed, but I just wanted to add Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros U, Scribblenaughts: Unlimited, and Wii Party U(Its pretty much only fun with at least 2 players). Yeah, I think you should get a Wii U. It's a lot of fun. But its strange i've been playing wii and gamecube games lately...?
