That seems awfully expensive for one trap. I guess you can capture every villain of that element with one trap, but sheesh.

On a side note the Target I went to had no preorders for the 3DS and it wasn't even mentioned on the end cap signs either. Only PS4, PS3, Xbox360, Xbox1, Wii U, and Wii were on the sign.

That's more than a regular skylander, which can actually be fully upgraded and level up with more moves! This can't be real... please DON'T BE REAL!

THis can't be true! Nobody buys a piece of unpainted plastic for 12 bucks. My guess is that they havn't decided it yet so they print a "maximum value" on the card to be sure it's correct.

I work at target and most of time stuff like this is in there to make sure we have our bases covered. We haven't received any word on pricing for anything trap team related and I don't expect anything til September at the earliest. That's when they'll put the item numbers in the system for the October release.

This is just an idea but what if each trap comes with a Villain already inside of it and you can only get that specific villain by getting that trap (you can still trap the other villains in the game) that might explain the pricing

I doubt they'll be that much guys. They're likely to be MUCH cheaper.

I agree, its gonna be a battle between target and gamestop to get my preorder (depending on what gamestops deal is)

I agree as well. I was in GameStop today and an employee who is fairly knowledgeable said we should know what their pre order bonus is or if they will be getting a collectors edition after E3. We will just have to wait and see.

I most likely will be preordering the game. For the bonus for sure.

Not sure which one though, plus I'll be getting atleast the 360 version and 3DS version.

Want a Wii U by then so if they have a special starter pack, I'd get that for Wii U.

I'm guessing a leak on trap costs will be available by end of July / early August. Cost and future compatibility I hope they offer some tidbits at E3.

I would at least like a free Trap Skylander and Trap with a preorder. Chances are the offers get better closer to release.

I haven't seen this in the pre-order topics so maybe extra/not good news...

The signage at Target says you can "be the first to play Outlaw Brawl and Chain" (my interpretation: it will be available to others but get it at Target first) and, in that light, notice the pre-order card actually has the "only @ Target" mark by the "outlaw brawl and chain trapped inside" (my interpretation: it is just the fact it is already "trapped inside" that makes it exclusive).

So, my interpretation: It is not an exclusive and/or variant villain at all, just a free trap with pre-loaded villain that others get later.

The Target deal must be an in-store only thing. So you have to pick up the card? Because I don't see it on the website.

By the way, this will be a good forum to reference later on down the road. I do plan to pre-order, but not just yet. Probably Late September.

The Target thing is indeed in-store only I believe. Per multiple employees, you physically need the card on release day when you come in to pick it up to get the pre-order bonus, just your receipt isnt enough.

I thought I read somewhere that the actual villain trap is "Brawl and Chain" and that Outlaw is a special designation like Nitro or Jade. I can't find a reference readily available. If Target claimed the Outlaws, then Brawl & Chain would be available at other stores but the Outlaw variant only at Target? Maybe? And if so, would they reserve one for people who preordered the starter or would it be first come first shoved, and sorry we don't have any right now try back later?

It's a Special Villain. The game offers Brawl and Chain.

I have a question Target says if you get the "starter pack" you get the outlaw brawl and chain but what if you want to pre-order the Dark Edition will that also come with Brawl and Chain too or not?

Dark Edition does not come with the Brawl and Chain. Only the regular version.

As far as i could tell you cannot even preorder the dark edition at target. By that i mean i never saw any preorder cards for it.

Also, Wallop and Krypt King are up on the GameStop site. Haven't seen them anywhere before yet. That completes Wave 1 for figures. No single trap packs up for preorder as far as I can tell.

Wow seems like you get ripped off for paying more money to them but you don't get the exclusive offer even when both the box and the skylanders website both call it a "Dark Edition Starter Pack"

I had a chat with a TRU rep today that cleared up a lot of questions i had about their pre order bonus. It went as follows:

I'm not sure "Kira" or any of the TRU online chat people know exactly what the "legendary" bonus is. After seeing Matty_0's post, I did an online help chat with "Deanna", and she said:

"Deanna: I appreciate you staying with me, I'll just be another moment.
Deanna: There may be coupons for other stuff but everyone is guarenteed a legendary skylander a previous game."

I asked her if she was sure about that because none of the promo pics depict a legendary figure, but rather, single figures from Giants or a SSA triple pack. She then said:

"Deanna: Do you mind if I send you a link to the official rules of the promotion?
User: You can if you want, but I've already read it and it doesn't seem to answer the question about what it is.
Deanna: I do apologize for any confusion, this promotion is by activision not toys r us and any futher questions about the prizes awarded in the promotion would need to be answered by them, I would be more than happy to help you find the site if you would like." Like Matty_o's post, I mentioned that knowing what the deal is will affect my decision on getting the game from TRU or Target, and she then said:

Soooo, I'm thinking it will be a crap shoot on what you get depending on the store. I certainly don't think "it would be the same for Target as it would be for Toys R Us" ...lol

Hmm, does not sound like I want to take that risk. I already have all the older stuff like most people here...

I talked with several TRU employee's months ago back when the Pre-order stuff first started. They confirmed the exact same thing as "Kira" did awhile back. I remember posting about it in another thread.

So after going to target itself and calling there tech support the card is for the Villain Variant only it is not counted towards the pre-order and because the picture of the box on the card is basically ambiguous it can be counted for both Normal and Dark Starter Packs but the cards cannot be sold 7 days before release

edit: Apparently my Targets cannot do pre-orders in store for skylanders its gotta be done on the website so i don't know what its like for other targets
