Will you always demand all A's? Will you be fine as long as they're not failing? Will you not give a damn?

As long as they're not failing they're fine. That's how I judge my own grades, why treat my kids any differently?
You know, assuming I ever have kids.

I'll be fine if they pass, and if they don't, I won't scream or ground them. Rather, I'll just try to motivate them or help them if I can. It's best if I don't stress them like most parents do.

It kind of depends. Like, if I know they're trying their hardest, I'm not going to flip out if they come home with like a C or worse. I mean, I'll want them to pass and I'll be sure to stress that, like I'll expect good grades from them, but I'm not going to be so strict as to ground them or something if they bring home anything lower than a B... unless of course, they really aren't trying and they don't give a ****. Then I'll be like LOOK, KID.
Does that make sense?

I've what happens when you pressure your child into getting good grades. A parent who is overbearing when it comes to good grades, often has a child with test anxiety. I don't want my child to feel as it if they have to get an A on every test or piece of homework. I want them to know that they can make a mistake and I won't be mad. If they don't succeed the first time or even the millionth time, I want my kid to know I'll still be there cheering for them.

However, if they're just being a lazy student, then that's where I get angry.

Well, I'm not really too sure. If they're failing and they truly don't care and they're certainly capable of doing better, then that would be really irritating. I guess as long as they're not always coming home with Ds and Fs I won't care too much, I won't push them and stress them out to excel if they can't, though of course I'll stress the fact that good grades are important and they should always try their hardest to achieve them.
I might 'motivate' them with rewards like a little money or a new toy/electronic if they bring up/keep their grades to As and Bs.

Yeah, I think I'd be a terrible parent.

Depends if they're are trying or pure laziness.

It's how I feel about it.
I haven't given it much thought since the way I see it, I have a 45% chance of ending up with kids.

This. Also, I'd take into account what I know about my child's potential and capabilities.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Because so many kids today just don't care and aren't trying, a lot of teachers, parents, and other adults are giving up on them......Which means that the kids who are really struggling aren't getting the help that they need. Pay attention to what your children do in school.

I will be like my parents. Me and my sisters can get A's easy. B's are accepted, but they aren't necessarily happy with them. So, my kids will probably be expected to get A's.

Well....as long as I knew that they were trying their hardest, giving all they got, I wouldn't mind if they came with Cs and Fs, as long as they could get the Fs back up to at least Cs. Though, if they're being lazy, then I'll get mad.

With my luck they will be a little too smart p.p. I want a gamer to be my son, not a nerd who knows everything there is to do with science or math.

I wouldn't be strict or demand all A's, I lived that when I was in school. My Dad was a strict f'er, he demanded all A's if not I got grounded until I brought that B to an A.
Well anyways I wouldn't be strict about my child/children getting all A's, but I do expect my child/children to do their best in school. If they're struggling with their studies, I would definitely help them try to understand what they're learning.

Well, to be entirely honest, I'm not going to set any sorts of standards till I know what my sons or daughters would be capable of. >.>

It would depend for me. My grades took a nosedive when I got swamped with stress overload, and I didn't have the motivation to do anything knowing the outcomes would always be the same. (Taking six tests and six quizzes in a row, studying your butt off day and night, getting tutors, and only getting extremely low Cs for your effort is very off-putting.)

I think that holding people to the expectation of 'always As or you're in deep trouble' is a tad out there, especially if holding an A is the equivalent to living on Jupiter (like it is here). Things happen. Stress happens.

As long as it's not failing, I'm fine with it, although I would encourage to at least hold a B if possible.

If I did not get an A, I would like not be able to come out of my room for like 5 days. For my kids, as long as they pass, but I would prefere an A.

I don't intend on having kids. But if I somehow change my mind, I would say as long as it's above a F I'm good. But that doesn't mean I won't encourage them to get a better grade for a bright future.

As long as they're trying and school, I'd be happy. Knowing that from experience, having parents that basically demand perfect grades is quite stressful.

If they were to be failing in any classes, I would do my best to help them out ^.^

It'll depend on their own level of intelligence.

I'd like As and Bs yeah but just a C would be fine in something they find hard. Even a D if they are really struggling (as long as it's not in English or maths. They have to pass those)
