I have Chrome Spyro, he's a level below these figures, the E3 figures always are that's why I have LG Hot Dog instead of E3 Hot Dog pictured. I'm not a fan of the 3 E3 figures, I don't like how they just float around in their packaging and there's no hook at the top of the package.

So, what color is Camo? Apparently another "we just released" variant long after the game was released. I remember the Crystal Whirlwind, just don't remember Camo.

Camo is a clear red color, I haven't looked at them side by side but I would say it's the same as WERDS or very similar. Yea, another of those annoying figures that never let you truly feel safe saying you've got them all for the old games. As far as I can tell Camo is more rare than Whirlwind, a Red Camo on ebay recently sold for over $2000 USD, I didn't buy or sell that figure I was just watching the auction with curiosity. The last Clear Whirlwind I saw sold for over $1000 USD.

Same color as WERDS, it came about shortly after Crystal Whirlwind turned up.

Yea but as far as rare figures go these are the rarest, even more rare than the employee figures although Gold Fire Kraken is much more rare than the other 2 employee figures.

Clear red (like the Walmart Drill Sergeant), he was in the same unfortunate promotion as Whirlwind.

Also, I'm wondering just how rare Metallic Shroom Boom is. I have seen more Red Camo and Clear Whirlwind figures than I have Metallic Shroom Boom figures on ebay. In fact I don't think I have ever seen one on ebay, I have no clue what the market value would be for that figure.

It's more a problem that it's hard to tell the real ones from the fakes, especially with oh so many people posting customs as if they're the real deals online.

There have been only 3 or 4 listings for him. They haven't sold for nearly as much as the recent Red Camo did, though.

Green Shroomboom is definitely the rarest Skylander.

IWHBYD- First off let me say that your collection is AWESOME! You've obviously spent countless hours collecting and displaying your collection. Great job! I was intrigued by your comment about rarity. I wanted to start a dialogue and try to get up to date on what is considered the rare of rares these days. One of a kind prototypes aside, are the 2011 E3's still considered the holy grail of packaged Skylander collecting? I realize that these do not appeal to you, however, when I last checked these were widely accepted as the rarest packaged Skylander around... as in most likely less than 100 still in their original promo packaging. My personal belief is that there are 50 or less for each character (Spyro, Trigger Happy, & Gill Grunt) still sealed. I have only seen the Trigger Happy come up 3-4 times for sale in 3 years... the Spyro only once... and I've never seen a packaged Gill Grunt come up for sale.

I would agree, however, that things like the Red Camo and Metallic Shroom Boom are definitely quite rare. Was trying to better understand just how rare? I realize that that is difficult to ascertain as they've only been available for a short period of time, but am interested in yours and others opinions.

So, I'll ask again... what do you all think is the holy grail of packaged Skylander collecting to date? (Regardless if you like the figure or it's packaging). What are the rare of the rares to the diehard collectors??

The E3 Trio in the odd packaging would be the rarest no doubt about it. After that it would be Red Camo, Crystal Whirlwind and Metallic Shroom Boom, if you look at completed listings on ebay these are almost non existent. Camo and Whirlwind command an insane price with multiple completed listings over $1000 and one listing over $2000 for a single figure, the only Shroom Boom I see as a completed listing on ebay was sold for about $200 which is surprising because it is insanely rare. I really couldn't tell you the order for these 3 figures, going by ebay sold prices it would be Camo > Whirlwind > Shroom Boom but going by number of completed listings it would be Shroom Boom > Whirlwind = Camo (or close to it).

Gold Fire Kraken would definitely come in just under these 2 trios, it is by far the rarest employee figure followed by perhaps LG Hot Dog, it's much harder to come by than e3 or Gamescom Hot Dog. Then the other employee figures I would think.

I noticed that you have the Arena Tour Exclusive Dark Spyro. You think that the LG Hot Dog is rarer than that? I'm not familiar with the origin of the LG Hot Dog? When and where was that released?

LG was from a tv promo I think, its basically the same figure as the e3 one but with a LG instead. Sort of like how walmart got drill seg first and those had the only at walmart thingy on them before the mass release of them without it (also see targets ssa whirlwind)

He was given away at a foreign LG event. No Giants figures were bundled with Battlegrounds, only S:SA ones.
