He's just so awesome, in design and attacks. He looks a lot better than Snap Shot or Wildfire, at least.

Uhhh, we're trying to go back to the whole "Demonize wolves" thing because the "Animal Welfarists" said so. That's why Wolfgang is bad and not good.

But seriously, how often are the goodguys more badass looking than the villains. Not very often.

He's a 10/10 character in design and reference.

Hopefully he'll at least get a Megablok figure.

Who was the other bad guy that looked like Spy Rise?

Is this an indication that the Swap Force "species" will be appearing as other characters in the game now?

They had to make a cool bad guy to get you interested in the idea of catching them to play, if it had been a chompy who would want to do that? (ME!)

To be honest? I kinda can't see why everyone's saying he's like the best unveiled character yet, Wildfire or Chopper win that one for me. *Goes DEFAULT and braces for incoming attacks*
That being said, he is a pretty fun looking villain who I'll probably play as if I have the right traps.
As for that Willy Wonka and Arachnia lovechild *passes brain bleach, particularly since I'm thinking of the Transformers character*, Krankcase, he's also fun.

Are we saying the villains should have been poorly designed? The playable villains should have major appeal, otherwise why bother? Wolfgang is a great in the fact that he's a vaunted villain to capture so you can play as him.

the thing that's disappointed me is the concept of this, for this exact reason.
They have had to come up with 16 trap masters, about 16 new cores, and 40 new villains.
All those 40 designs, that would have made perfectly good figures for this game or future games, but instead we get crystals.
I agree, he should have been a figure character!
Same for kaos, id have preferred a figure rather than a crystal of his head.
Plenty of hard work and design, figureless...

Who is to say they don't use the designs to create figures of bad guys for the next game? Activision is all about making money. If they believe that they can make money producing figures of the bad guys, they will.

if they expect us to buy all these crystals, catch all these villians, then in the next game buy them all again as figures, that's a pretty outrageous move. Really harsh on the consumer.
so your totally right, it will most likely happen.
just like series 2 figures in giants, remember all those figures you bought? Here they are again in better poses!!
but yeah, I imagine activision is watching which characters are popular for next time!

I dunno. I really like Traptanium crystals. Maybe we don't have to collect every single one of them. Just the ones we enjoy the most. Anyway, you might be right about what you are implying about

I don't think we're gonna see villain figures in the next game. It just won't work. Along with whatever crazy gimmick they've come up with, and some new Corelanders, it will just be out of place to have villain figures. And, more importantly to Actvision, it will loose focus on those gimmicklanders that are just that bit more expensive. So, guys, I'd make the most of Trapping villains in this game, and hope you can still do it in the next game (Which I kinda doubt) Me though, I don't think I'll be getting this game. To be honest, playing as villains isn't my thing, and Im not excited for it. Unless there are some sweet Skylanders that I really want (And enough to make buying the game worth it) I might just leave it.

Only thing with Wolfgang bing a trap master is that he looks really BIG! (If you know what I mean smilie)

Is it losing focus, or changing things up with the same core concept to keep it interesting? I think it's the later.

Not sure how they can do that, since the crystals won't tell them who's popular. I guess internal testing with kids would tell them that.

They might include some code in the game that sends data based on which villains are most frequently used to a server or something. Or they could look at feedback on all of the villains on various Skylanders forums.

*drops back into character*

I personally hope they immortalize my awesomeness in a figure, although it'll be tough for them to decide on a pose that TRULY captures the essence of me. \,,/,

Now that's funny. They can't be bothered to give us a patch or online play because of the evils of the internet, but they can send themselves data on what characters I play. That's rich.

But then again, it's all about them and not the customers they serve, so ironically it actually makes sense and is in character.

No, just no. I don't want to see him in stores everywhere! Right now he is my LEST favorite of the revealed characters... I don't know what I have against him.
I do not really like popular stuff. Like Adventure Time, and Doctor Who. Maybe that is one reason why? Plus his design is... Ewie to me.

personally the crystals should have been figures but done so in a way to look like traps somehow instead of keys. It would've saved making yet another portal maybe and making the thing talk. It's just a concept that's probably going to lead to killing the franchise. I'd say wolfgang's probably going to be in the top tier of those that people will like to trap and have a reason to capture and most of the villains are going to be throw away to even bother.

Hell Yeah!!
Imagine like a figure of wolfgang, but coloured crystal clear, and hard like the traps, not soft like previous clear figures.
Then their 'variants' could be a coloured version...

yeah they're right about them wanting to save so e of the 'cool' characters for the villians.

cuz it helps sell the gimmick and if you only had like 40 villians and they were like all the 10+ versions of chompies and different villians, then it'd not be to appealing.

though with the way the traps are designed... the crystal may have cause in the next games.... but doesn't mean the trapable villians will also be in it. as in the exact same ones. if as many.

At this point I don't expect playable villains in the next game, but maybe the crystals will act as magic items?
