Ok this was posted on the skylanders facebook page on April 19th! But when I try to go download the update there is no update (tried of ipad and iphone and on iTunes on my computer, and the app is only on apple products right now so it can't be for a different device). Any Idea what is going on? Also most of the Comments on facebook say they can't find the update ether.

Can the character database be updated from inside the app? It is probably just a database update as it says the newest characters can now be added.

This is a possibility. Lost Islands does this too, instead of releasing an update through the app store.

I would have checked myself, but I only have an android, nothing with ios. In all the time that I have had my phone (about 6 months), I only remember 1 lost islands play store update - everything else has been automatically from within the app.
Collection vault looks to be on version 1.1, with the last update released in December. This probably means they work on the same system - the main database updates are automatic from within the app, with only major functionality updates requiring itunes.

A few weeks to a month ago, mine (iOS) kept trying to autoupdate but it kept failing. I assumed this was to add Kickoff Countdown and Jade Fire Kraken. The update never worked and those two still aren't in my app.

It probably is the same update - it may be that there was an error in the update, so it was failing, and then they removed the update from their server whilst they tried to fix it. If this is the case, the update will probably be re-released within a week or two, but I would contact activision to check this. It may be that they do not check the comments on older posts, so they are not yet aware of a problem, so emailing them would probably be best.

The app has never worked adding codes to the various reposes. App is still an epic fail, as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, the lazybots allowed you to add a character without a code. But the functionality for certain characters has never worked. Still doesn't.

Didn't see that. That would be cool, but I've already endured the pain.

I've never had a problem with the Collection Vault app until 2 weeks ago. Picked up Smolderdash and whether I enter the code or add without code the app says my download was interrupted. Only that figure, it drives me nuts lol

Wasn't the Bluetooth portal supposed to be usable from the start?
Either way, it seems the update had a few problems, so has now been removed. Expect a new update soon.

So there's a new update on IOS that adds the Bluetooth Portal. It stop reading after awhile but shutting down the app and re-opening the app again made it read again.
