Hahahahahaha!!! XD

Uh, yes. Yes it has. XD And it would take a long time for me to explain what it's impacted, but I'll say it's given me several brushes with fame that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

It made me join a video game forum to talk about it many years ago, where I met one of my best friends. He ended up making his own Spyro forum, where I met a lot of my other great friends years later. Also ended up greatly influencing my current career, and if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have gone to the school I ended up going to or meeting my husband or most of my current real life friends, either.

So yeah, I guess kind of a lot, indirectly at least.

I own him a lot if you ask me... seriously

Both. YoTD was the first video game I played which massively influenced me and made me obsessed, the LoS games were basically my childhood, but after SA it's only been a fan-hobby since to me Spyro as a franchise is dead. It also lead me to stop collecting Spyro merchandise since it's impossible to find when everything Skylanders-related is tagged SPYRO. He's as important in Skylanders as Mega Man is in Smash Bros. really :T

However, if I hadn't played YoTD first, I could have played Super Mario Bros., Pokémon Yellow/Gold or Crash Bandicoot 2/3 first anyway. Or even some N64 game like Mario Kart or Pokémon Snap. I dunno if they would have made me so immersed like Spyro though(Crash 3 did when I played it, but I didn't play it as much as Spyro- though that might have been just because I wanted to play Spyro more, if I never played Spyro I might have felt the same way about Crash as I do Spyro).

Spyro made a big impact on me but I've given up hope that he will ever become his own franchise and get his own games again where he actually features largely in the plot(and not just promo material), so I don't care about him like I used to. I love the old Spyro and he's special to me because of the impact he's made on me, I go through the old games once in a while for nostalgia, but it seems so few people really want to discuss them (despite the supposed desire people have for a classic style reboot?) and stuff anymore so besides that I've lost interest. If the classic games' forums were more active I would be more interested again. But from what I've seen the classic Spyro game community is pretty dull and basically dead, even the Legend games are the same(if not worse...).

Spyro has very much had a great impact on my life. It was the franchise that introduced me to gaming, and if I wasn't playing games since I was 3 years old, I wouldn't be doing the video games design course in college that I currently am doing. There's also the fact that it made me join this website, which was the set up for as many negative life-changing things as it was for positive life-changing things.

When I was nine years old, my mum was buying PS1 games to sell for money on ebay and she would let me and my sisters test the games out. One of those games was Spyro 2. I liked that game so much that my mum let me keep it and that's how I got into Spyro as well as platformers in general. Since then, video games have become one of my hobbies. I liked Spyro so much that when I was younger, I would get a new console just for the new Spyro game. I got a PS2 for Christmas when I was 11 just for Enter the Dragonfly and I got a DS for Christmas when I was 13 just for Shadow Legacy. Spyro is also the reason why I like dragons so much.

I suppose it kept Insomniac Games on my permanent radar, which, up until that point, had really only been keeping watch on Nintendo. So I got into the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance games after Insomniac moved on. But other than that it's a hobby. @.@

As a kid, Spyro was the first I have ever seen and I can of thought all dragons acted like the ones from his games (until I saw How to Train Your Dragon and Eragon).

The artwork in his games is also an inspiration for me to become a game designer one day. I'm already creating a character for a comic book class I take saturdays influenced by him(although my character isn't a dragonsmilie).

And if it wasn't for Spyro, I wouldn't have all three of the current Skylanders games. I probably wouldn't have been interested in them or I would have started with Swap Force if he wasn't in it.

I'd say it has. If it weren't for Spyro, I never would have decided to start drawing, since it was the Spyro fanart that gave me inspiration to try my hand at it (since I was never a very good artist).
From there, I managed to get the hang of doing pixel work, and now I'm working on two different games of my own, and I've been commissioned on more than one occasion to create sprites for other games that other people are making. And hey, Spyro was what introduced me to one of my greatest friends. So yep, Spyro has certainly had an impact on my life smilie

It's hard for me to explain without going very deep into the damn thing. I mean, Spyro is what got ME into gaming, but Skylanders is what's getting me OUT of gaming. I don't even want to buy a PS4 only because the classic isn't in there.

Shadow Legacy, may I remind you, was the last classic Spyro game that we got. Yes, I know it was horrible, but the damn thing was the inspiration for the Legend of Spyro games. At this point, Spyro inspired me to revive him.

He's calling for me. He's asking for another chance to show his true self. He doesn't like the life he has now.

Damn, this makes me think I'm crazy. WHATEVES, I DON'T CARE!!!!

Spyro got me into plataformers. In a nutshell he probably introduced me to almost every fandom I'm part of nowadays, except maybe Skullgirls.
It introduced me to the cool-scary style of ANB and TEN which I love to this day. I could say it also introduced me to fandom anything like fanfics, but I started my own fan contributions with Kirby and PMD so it's not as much of a direct influence.
While it wasn't the first one to give me the idea(pretty sure that was some PS2 classic), it gave me the push to want to pursue Concept Art as a career. TEN's concept art section was just huge and beautiful, and when looking through it I just wanted to do the same.

....*Sigh* It introduced me to the majority of Fan Dumb types including several of them at once from some people. At least it's better than being introduced to them in a Sonic/Homestuck/MLP/etc forum like it happens to most people who aren't very eager to socialize with fellow fandom members.

It brought me to this site, which I feel has had a considerably greater impact on my life than the games themselves and is far too deep to go into now.

Spyro is also one of those franchises I look back on when thinking of gaming in my childhood, and LoS is such a polarizing trilogy in my mind that I still think about it, what worked, what didn't, and continue to have discussions about it with people outside the site every now and then.

I love Spyro. Ever since I started playing Spyro at a year old. I'm the same way as Loco. I feel like I'm Spyro too. It's like my attitude is just like his. I started becoming like absolutely extremely OBSESSED and IN LOVE with Spyro last year. Around late August, early September. I'm just so attached to him. I can't keep my eyes off of him or stop thinking about him. He just never leaves my mind. He's always in my mind. Every single millisecond of time, I'm thinking about him. I'm always thinking about him. He's just so amazing, sexy, hot, cute, adorable, awesome, loving, cute, sexy, hot---oh wait, I already said that. He's the most hottest thing alive. I'm always playing his games or anything like that (not Skylanders). I even sleep with him (my Spyro plushie). I'm always kissing him or something. I have a huge bond for Spyro. I'm gay, so it's okay for me. He has made my life soooo much better! My boyfriend is the same exact way as me. He has a huge obsession over Spyro and is IN LOVE with Spyro the same way as me, just like I do. My boyfriend and I are so perfect for each other. <3 We both love Spyro a lot. <3 and we both became absolutely extremely obsessed with Spyro the same time. Spyro is truly amazing. <3 He has made my life so so so much better! Like I already said before.

...sorry, I had to get that out.

Back when I got my first game system, my GBA, I didn't find enough titles as a kid that interest me as much, until I bought a bunch of really good games for the system that pretty much solidified my gaming life; Spyro 2 Season of Flame, my first Spyro game, was one of them. So in a way, Spyro helped me get my game life created.

If anything Spyro as a series nearly turned me away from Platform gaming because the series started to go down hill rapidly.

The only reason he was put into Skylanders was to try and boost his dying series.

Spyro was one of the first 3D platformers I played. In fact...I think it may have been the first. It was either Spyro or Super Mario 64, I don't remember which, but Spyro impacted me more. Anyway, it rapidly made platformers my favorite genre to play. Spyro YotD was my first game for my PS2, since it was the only Spyro I hadn't played yet at the time. I tend to have binges, where I'll go and play any and all Spyro games for a few weeks, do everything in them, then put them down for a while as to not completely burn myself out. Sadly, I am still missing the GBA and DS Spyro games.

While Spyro itself hasn't largely influenced anything, I think introducing me to the genre has. I'm a pretty big gamer, and I like to nitpick at what's wrong and what could be improved. I'm considering a career in video games, but I know it's not easy and I'm not exactly sure what angle to go with. I'm artistic, so I have been practicing my drawing skills. In my free time, I've been playing through A Hero's Tail. And honestly, it's sad to see the 3D platformer in the state it's in now. There aren't many games in that genre left. I suppose there's LBP, but it's more 2D than true roam-around-collect-things 3D. Oh, and Skylanders, that's a platforming game which is probably why I like it so much.
