I think this will be bigger, meaning noon maybe too late. Especially since it sounds like it was a hit last year. I am glad I live as far West as possible, so I don't have to worry.

The one thing I think they could have done better would have been to release Doom Stone when Trap Shadow was released and hold on to Trap Shadow for this day, since its all about the TRAP.

They handed out armbands a bit ago and Eruptor and Gil Grunt are making the rounds. The costumes look great, especially Eruptor. My kids LOVED them.

Well, according to the TRU manager I talked to there today, this whole thing is Activision's doing. They controlled every aspect, TRU just gave them the space and some manpower. They do it there because that TRU is truly insane. They have a fully functional, FULL SIZE Ferris Wheel INSIDE the store to give an idea how big it is. They have a whole section dedicated to Skylanders right beside the full service ice cream shop, also inside the store - and the Skylanders section isn't even part of the huge video game section where they have even more Skylanders. The first floor alone would make a decent sized TRU - and there are THREE floors. This is no ordinary TRU.

Really wish I could've went, I live on the island too but stupid drivers ed got in the way. Welp. At least I can wait for Doom Stone.

I was there as a member of the press, which, in hindsight, I may reconsider doing again if they have another similar event. Last year, they had the Ninjini release and the Swap-force reveal on the same day, but they were only a block away from eachother, so we were able to get our figure shortly after the first "fans" got theirs, and then walk down the block to the reveal. This year, the events were a considerable distance apart form each other, so there were only 3 people at TRU (everyone was at the reveal event). So we all thought "Get our figure, then run to the oher event". Then we were told that they weren't going to give figures to members of the press this year, which I had a bit of a problem with, considering that there were only 3 of us there, and in being there, were almost late to the reveal. If I knew this, I would've gotten in line when I first got there at 11:15, instead of walking aimlessly arount times square for 5 hours! If it was only kids that were getting them, that's one thing, but there were even parents there who weren't expecting a fig (yes, and plenty who went with their kids, and anyon else's kids and their friends just to get 6+ figures to resell), but to shut out those who were there and want one doesn;t sit well with me.

I'm confused. You got there at 11:15, left, returned at 4:15 and expected to get a figure? Did you have a wrist band? They handed them out at about 1:00 and were still passing them out until very close to 4. They only had 500 bands so if you returned after they were all gone, then no, there would have been no way for you to get a figure. I stood in line for 4 hours. First hour I did not have a wrist band but even after I got one at approximately 1, I still did not leave the line because they told us at least one person from each group or family had to remain in line at all times. The other 3 people I went with went off for sight seeing and food and returned to their place in line with me at about 3:30.

And yes, they did hand out the bands to everyone, parents and children. If you're willing to stand in a line for that long, there's no reason you shouldn't get one. I came home with 3 Doom Stones. I'm keeping one for myself and giving the other 2 to children I know will have absolute fits over getting these toys. Mostly though, because they are not expecting them. And yes, I said giving. One of the parents offered to pay me but I said absolutely not. I didn't pay for the toy, I cannot charge for it.

This is going to turn into a debate (read: fight) about entitlement, so I'm going to have to decline form clarifying my initial post, which I thought was pretty clear.

No, he doesn't. It's just your average light/dark gray color. Aside from the awesome looking crystal green and his brown/gray whirl base, his paint job is pretty blah.

So he is shiny? That sucks. A matte finish would have made him look a little rocky at least.

He is rocky colored, but he looks bland. Kinda like Prism Break with a grey body and dark gray hands.

Haven't been on the forum in a while. Do we have any reliable info on when Doom Stone is likely to hit stores? Emphasis on "reliable." I looked around here a bit and didn't see anything, but maybe I missed it. Actually, while I'm asking, what about Jade Fire Kraken? Hopefully he hasn't come and gone and I missed it...
