I think it's a bit difficult to see everything from the picture itself, I can barely notice anything besides maybe a new portal of power and some new Skylanders. I seem a little confused about the said gimmick right now because it's hard to say without any evidence of what can do what. I'm pretty much sure that this 'question' will be answered better during the day, when more will be revealed, hopefully.

There are clearly 2 weapon items next to the figures!

New portal is huge. Electronics are under the "door" at the front with a massive "pit" of a portal.

Red bases

Red = Ruby

Blue weapons

Blue = Sapphire

Ruby & Sapphire

Well... It wasn't Trigger Happy, after all...

Well, we know where the 'Trap Team' comes from. I think. That Portal looks like it has a trap door attached.

My only two complaints so far:
- that Lion still doesn't convinces me... A plain gold Skylander? Looks more like a variant... But I still don't know his backstory, so...
- why do the gimmick characters always have to be that big? Giants should be big, not Swap Forces or... "Rangers". Even if, in game, they are all about the same size... Except for the Giants, of course.
That Portal (if it is a new Portal) looks really interesting...

I REALLY like the look of the new gimmick characters. Can't wait to get hands on the lion and the hammer guy.

I hope that they show the Undead mummy character.

if there are blind bags, that would suck because you would be getting duplicates

Also after the US/UK reveal we will probably be getting little bits of information here and there

I feel like those smaller characters shown are too small to be regular core characters. To me they almost look side-kick size or a little bigger than that...but definitely not core size. I don't know maybe I'm hoping for something that won't happen..?

Nah, those are regular sized characters... Is just that, near the gimmick ones, they look really tiny!

I also thought the blue guy was gonna be a water element but it looks like a magic element if you look at the base

So I'm guessing as it's Toys For Bob this year that there are Giants again but this time you have a trap base for a smaller Skylander which is probably going to be your in game companion who will follow you around? And the Giant this time can have switchable weapons which are probably going to be sold as blind bags. WOW! The hobby just got more expensive. LOL!

I'm surprised that we didn't see any reposes in that image. It would be interesting if they restarted completely fresh and used all new Skylanders and offered no backwards compatibility. I'm thinking this may be the case which is why we got a late reveal for this stuff. I wouldn't mind though as I'm tired of seeing so many different poses of Spryo, Stealth Elf, Gill Grunt and so on, but I know there are some that would drop the game completely without the backwards comparability.

And could the bases be purple this time? Why is the image so fuzzy and lame! LOL It's like a huge tease and no one else was able to get any better images at this event? It's almost as bad as a Bigfoot or Lock Ness Monster image. LOL!

They defined the toys to life market. If they get so cheezy as to copy Infinty's marketing practices (blind bags) then I'm calling this over and done. They are leaders, not laggers. If they do this then they are sending the wrong message.

That new portal is kind of huge if that white thing in the back of whatever that little jail cell thing is the actual portal. I like the current size of the portal. Guess we'll find out more soon.

Look at the weapons of Ranger, The Lion and the Duo Hammer guy. They're transparent, just like the things under the new Tech Character. I'm guessing Swappable Weapons is the new gimmick.

So here's my theory on what those cores are. A snake/lizard helicopter, some three eyed dog perhaps and probably a hedgehog cactus guy.

The Portal looks like there's a small "trap" on it. Crystals could go in there.

Whoa... I woke up this morning, and I was surprised to see that we have a new Trap Team section, AND a picture of the characters. So that little guy wasn't Trigger Happy. Looks more like a baby Zook. I have to say, those other characters are huge. Like, they look as big as a Giant.

So it seems swappable weapons are the new gimmick this time around... but I also have to say that portal looks odd... looks like it was made out of tin foil and styrofoam/plastic. what I'm wondering more is what the little cage is for. Guess we'll find out more soon.

Agreed. While I won't quit Skylanders, I won't be purchasing blind bags, especially just for weapons.
