'Cause I sure don't. After all, Spyro was just used to get kids into Skylanders. He ain't even the icon of his franchise. I don't know about you, but tactics like that just make Activision EVIL!!!!!!

I'm rolling my eyes as hard as I can right now. There would be NO Spyro AT ALL right now were it not for Skylanders. NONE. LoS flopped and the classics are pretty much only fun if you grew up with them. This board would be a ghost town (like all the Spyro forums that don't discuss Skylanders) without that franchise. You can hate on Skylanders all you want but it doesn't change the fact that it has brought $2 BILLION to the Spyro name. That's more than the entire combined sales of the rest of the franchise put together. Skylanders did save and is saving Spyro whether you like it or not.

You do realize that Insomniac/Universal were trying to hook kids with the original games, yeah? And the guys who worked on Shadow Legacy have jobs now because of Skylanders? And that ALL GAMES are made to make money? That is the entire purpose of entertainment that is made by companies and only naive individuals who've never worked in a creative enterprise think otherwise. Yeesh.

Well... Skylanders is the only "fresh" way to actually play with Spyro in continuously updating game universe. So in a sense Skylanders is carrying Spyro to the future generations. But based on current market appeal of the Skylanders Spyro character compared to other Skylanders characters, I could quite boldly say that Skylanders is keeping Spyro on life-support rather than giving it 100 per cent functional life. When Skylanders franchise ceases to exists (and it will someday in very distant future... every beginning has its ending, alpha has an omega etc.), Spyro will probably just fade slowly into history books. At least this is what I think at this moment.

I might give you more opinions... for a small fee of course.
