Over a month ago, I had the idea for Spyro Enchanted (my topic is COMPLETELY TAKEN DOWN; there isn't much traffic and my idea is written in a way that it can easily be stolen). I then introduced my idea to a friend. He was skeptical at first, doubting that any of my ideas might actually work, considering he's never really followed the Spyro series. However, when I explained the story concepts and the mechanic concepts, he was shocked to see the capability in my creative ideas.

I mean, when Spyro came out, gaming changed...FOREVER. Spyro wasn't your ordinary "kill it all" dragon, first of all. He was like the bratty 11-year-old who'd do whatever it takes to get things done, even if he hates doing it.

So, since my friend is under strict parental control, and that his parents wouldn't let him come to my home, I let my friend play Spyro the Dragon on my PSP. He really liked it, and, to be honest, there's never going to be another game like this.

So, I'm wondering... how many of you play PS1 Spyro games on a PSP?

What if you wanted to play on the go? Or what if you had a friend that's under parental protection, like mine?

Also, I find that I'm a Spyro fanatic. That's one of the reasons why I decided to put Spyro in my PSP, so I can play it while I'm in school.

I always thought that because of all the licensing issues over the original trilogy, that I wouldn't ever see a re-release on PSN.

I have a PSP, but I no longer have the battery for it (long story).

I plan on buying a new one, though, and I'll most likely be playing the original Spyro trilogy on it.

I'm kind of upset that the PS Vita doesn't have them on the PSN yet.

What, really? I figured that the Vita should able to play anything on the PSP PSN. That was going to be one reason I'd get a Vita. smilie

I think I did for a bit but now I play them on my Vita. I would stretch the screen ratio to fit the screen on both systems.

I would like to know how that would work on a PSP because it's missing the L2 and R2 buttons.

Though on a Vita you can at least use the back touch panel for those buttons.

There's certain modes for controls. If you want to use the d-pad for moving, you can use the analog stick as the R2 and L2 buttons, but if you want to use the analog stick for moving, the d-pad will be used for the R2 and L2 buttons.

Ah, seems sort of crampy though, not being able to move the camera and character at the same time.

Eh, I haven't used my PSP in over a year now. I'd play Spyro on it sure, but the handheld doesn't hold my attention like the 3DS.

Yes. I actually replayed them recently.

Here's a shot I got when I was last playing GTG, actually:

I haven't found any interesting titles for the 3DS, other than Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land.

I still find that title weird ever since I found out that's what Europeans called it, but it's nice to see that people that are still fans of him. I mean, the guy was created by Americans, and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT AT FIRST!!!! I WAS TOO YOUNG TO KNOW WHERE COMPANIES WERE ESTABLISHED!!!!1!!!!!1!

I don't own a PSP or PSVita, but even if I did, the PSX Spyro games strike me as the types of games I'd want on a full television screen, not a handheld. >.>

Yeah, but not much now since I'm stuck playing FFX HD on my Vita (and I can't play any Spyro game on my Vita ._. )

That's a nice screenshot from Arc of Archives, too bad it's a bit blurry though. Perhaps you should get one of him doing the "longest glide".

Well, to me, Ripto's Rage is a weird title. smilie I'm just so used to Gateway to Glimmer. Heck, playing the US versions of the Spyro games on my PSP just feels weird because I'm a PAL gamer. I enjoy it, though, since I don't have an NTSC console to test out my NTSC copies of the older games.

SSF, I didn't take any pictures of the longest glide, but I have these pics of Spyro on the Autumn Plains castle which I liked. smilie (I don't think I have any other pics of the game, besides these three, oh yeah and that one I posted on the glitch guide topic.)

These pictures aren't the highest quality, I just took them with an iPad camera. Sadly, I couldn't get the pic I posted first without it being blurry. smilie I'd love to see a "restored" version taken with an emulator or something. The funny thing is Sparx was flying in the perfect spot there. smilie
