DarkSpyro has always been a site centered around a video game franchise, so playing games is a common factor for all of us here. The "darkSpyro Video Game League" is an attempt to create a hub for all dS users who like to play video games online, and are looking for friends and other dS users to play with.
Part of the idea is to also create and maintain an accurate catalog of user stats for competetive games. This idea is still under development, and requires some participation and responsibility from behalf of the players themselves.

How do I join darkSpyro Video Game League?

You can join the league by simply posting on this topic a list of online multiplayer games that you can and would like to play online with other dS users. Use the form in the quote below.

If you have games that you would like to play both casually and co-operatively, post their names twice under both titles. Also, when it comes to certain games it is also recommended to type the name of the realm/server that you play in. This makes it easier for users to find just the right kind of gaming company that they're looking for, and it eliminates having to ask extra questions before starting to play.
Everyone is responsible for keeping their own list of games updated. If you want to leave the league, you can always delete your post and remove your game list.

How does the competetive stat catolog work?

It doesn't, not yet. You and your friends can track your own personal stats using the form in the quote below, but at the moment there is no catalog for all stats. Put the stat card in your GB announcement, or edit it in your game list post on this topic, but don't make a separate post for it.

(points = 1 + the amount of your opponent's wins for every victory. Losses yield no points.)

A couple of simple pointers for playing online

1. When playing with darkSpyro users, it would be recommended to use your darkSpyro username as your online nick if you can change it. If you can't, make sure the people you're playing with know who you are. Needles to say, this is usually not a problem.

2. If you are creating a game online and there is an option to set a password for that game, make sure to set a password to prevent strangers from barging in your game (if you don't want them to, anyway). This is only a problem with games created on official servers where there is a list of games available. Set the password as dsleague, to keep it simple.

Anyhow, I'll remove the "no discussion"-rule as it didn't seem to do any good to begin with. I hope people continue using this topic to find people to play with in the future.

Also, I'm still trying to come up with ideas about how to maintain the stat log. If anyone has any, feel free to share.

I may set up a Mario Kart 8 dS tournament.

The tournament would be open daily, and would serve more as general hub for dS MK8 players to hook up with each other.
