So I heard the 5th AC game leaked and it's called The Fall
From what I've seen, it's just like trailer pictures, but does anyone else know what's going on with it or if it's even real?

There's not much proof that it's fake or that it's real.
But from what I've been hearing, many say that it's fake. That the "lettering" seems really off and that the name sounds terrible. Thought that last reason isn't too valuable...

I honestly don't know.
There's no number, which could mean that it's a sequel for Edward. But he doesn't seem to have much story left. He really did felt like he would just be seen in Black Flags.
And I do agree that the name doesn't seem something Ubisoft would use...

Well Ubisoft kinda already used something similar on the graphic novel with Nikolai Orelov with "The Fall".

And Edward's story is pretty much completely over, because the rest of the Kenway saga is with Haytham in the book Assassin's Creed: Forsaken, detailing the death of his father THE NIGHT OF the opera he took Haytham to. There's no where else they could take Edward. They could make Forsaken into a game, but since they've never adapted a novel into a game, that's highly unlikely.

I've heard rumors of two things that could be happening with this:
1. A much older Connor before and in the beginning of the Civil War and it details his death
2. That WATCH_DOGS is basically a test to see how something like a modern day Assassin's Creed game would work, and if it did, Great Fall would be about Erudito's takedown of Abstergo Industries, similar to the way the Templars killed off all the Assassins, he would destroy the public image of Abstergo, forcing the Templars into hiding too.

Interesting rumors.
While Connor was one of my least favorite, he did became more bearable as he started become more wise. I would love to see how far he has changed, though I would prefer if that was some DLC and not the next AC.

Assassin's creed is one of those rare franchises that release so many games in so little time and yet they're all good.

although as much as i like them all i still reckon the second game is the best, and the first will forever be the worst (mainly because i completed it so quickly because i skipped some of the missions, not knowing they're actually a huge part of the darn game).

Mobile games don't count since they were ALL ****ty and Ubisoft has decided they aren't canon.
But for handheld, Liberation was really well made.

I think Assassin's Creed is the first annual franchise to do it right without sucking or experiencing stagnation. Ubisoft is a bigger company than many of us realize and dev teams from around the world often work on these games so that new ideas can grow for each one. It was a smaller studio that thought of naval combat for ACIII, and without that we wouldn't have had the naval heavy ACIV. Assassin's Creed, to me, is the first truly globally developed franchise and it's just astounding how deep it gets.

Also it's said that 2-3 AC games are in development at any given point in time so as it stands the franchise is set to exist at least into 2015-2016.

It's not bad for a franchise to have a game once a year, or even more than that, as long as the games don't lose their quality and are still staying strong. AC is still achieving both.

EH, I personally thought Revalations was the worst, considering it was REALLY uninspired and Ezio really didn't need another game. However, I agree that 2 was the best, with Black Flag VERY close behind.

Well like I said before I think I like AC 1 the least because of how I played the game: cutting a lot of sidequests out because of not knowing they were a huge part of the game. It was only required to do three or four of them in each mission but I didn't know that not doing the extras made it so much shorter. I also thought it was the most repetitive game out the lot. I would replay it to play it properly but I can't be bothered.

Same, I thought it was rather short without the sidequests but I did a few and found them to be pretty fun.

That, and it's also only the first game. The first game was really just trying to set up what the basic format of the game was, and Ubisoft had no idea the series would get this successful.

I would agree in saying that Assassin's Creed II is the best- heck, it's my favorite video game ever- but I'd say the first game isn't the worst since it was the series' start.

Personally, I think ACIII was the worst. Both stories were mostly uninteresting, and the worlds were linear and too big, even though the gameplay was improved. not to say it was BAD, but Ubisoft definitely could have done MUCH better.

^ thats what i had heard about the 1st one. That they were testing if the idea worked well enough for people to enjoy and that it was mostly just a test game for what they wanted to do in the 2nd game. But anyways i did enjoy the Ezio trilogy, 3 just started out way too slow for my liking. Revilations was kinda its own thing since it didnt contribute much to the actual over-story but eh it was entertaining.

But anyways i dont know if people have seen this but there are supposedly 2 AC games this year? One of them code named Unity at least partially takes place in 18th century paris

I don't own a next gen console, and I still haven't played 4, I also didn't care for III, I just found it boring and I had to stop half way through, I think part of it was the loss of Ezio that was getting to me.

But here's the thing...Desmond is still alive, he has to be, you don't have all these characters and develop them so much and make your players connect with them on a personal level and then kill them.
Also when Subject 16 (it was 16, right?) hugged Desmond in the Animus it was odd and for no reason, but he ahd said he was saving him, you can then see Desmond's left arm glow blue, when Desmond touches the ball thing in the (I haven't finished ACIII, but I've seen the scene) He touches it with his left arm, and when he touches it, his arm glows blue. So I believe 16 put himself into Desmond's DNA or something, and 16 took the hit, not Desmond.
They're also making a movie with Desmond in it...So....

Was there even any mention of Desmond in Black Flag?

So I just got my hands on Black Flag. Despite what I'd heard, I was sceptical after AC3's dismal performance. But I'm pleased to say that I've really enjoyed it. And it only cost me £10, compared to the £40+ that my friends, who really enjoyed it, paid for it. So, all in all, got a bargain.

It's raised my hopes for Unity, though I probably won't be getting it the moment of release. However if Comet is a completely different game released for last-gen as is suspected, then I'll get a hold of that on my PS3 and possibly get Unity when I get around to buying a PS4.

Desmond was often criticized for being bland and boring (IMO more so than Connor apparently is) and he existed merely to tie together the historical assassin stuff with the present day. Otherwise he would have no reason to exist. I'm ok with him being dead.

As for Black Flag, it involves going through some major spoilers of sorts. If you want a spoiler free answer: Yes he's mentioned.

I haven't completed Black Flag yet so I don't know if there's any mention of Desmond's return, but I can't help but feel that they might bring him back somehow. Maybe not as a playable character, maybe not bringing him back to life, but somehow.

Though I really am digging the idea they introduced with the first-person modern day segments, even if it does mean none of the really well done modern day sequences in AC3 where you ran around as Desmond.

I've only played AC 3, and 4, and I have really enjoyed them both, but what I find with both of them is that it always seems to take me a little while to actually get interested in them, the first half an hour of gameplay to me feels a bit BLURGH, and then it seems to unexpectly get really interesting, and fun to play. Now I'm not really sure out of which of these two is my favourite, they're both pretty equal to me, it's just that they have added an entirely new concept to Black Flag which was obviously the sailing, and that was so great, but then I noticed that the areas on land were a lot smaller than of AC 3, and that was kind of a downer. There wasn't any big forests or anything like that, and I really enjoyed that in 3. And that's why I can't decide between the both, there's a lots of great and bad things about each other, that they both just equal the same to me.

Now I haven't played any of the AC's before III, but I've seen a lot of footage of 2 and 1, and to be honest it doesn't look like I've missed out on much, especially with the first one. They just look a bit bland and repetitive to me, but I've got to face it, every game has it's repetitivness.

I'm not going to be buying myself a PS4 though, I think the PS3 is as far as I will go nowadays. One big reason is, I never go online, and so it just seems a bit pointless for me to be honest, I don't even have a big library for the PS3, and that makes me think that perhaps I should've just stuck with the PS/PS2 and left it at that, but I do have decent games for the PS3 that I enjoy. In the future, I'm just going to look out for older games that may interest me now.

Nope I disliked Lucy in assassin creed the assassin creed games just got much better when she died and even better she was a templar so is great she is gone.

But I like Desmond his was alright we were getting to know more about him and they kill him off.

I hope if the assassin creed series chose to bring back a character I hope it will be Desmond.

Black Flag was by FAR my favorite, but III has a lot of pointless handholding in the beginning, and the story seemed to drag. III introduced Naval Combat though so props for that.

The only one you missed out on was Assassin's Creed 2 and MAYBE Brotherhood. AC2 was on par with Black Flag, it was really great. Brotherhood was okay, but not fantastic.

Well considering I was crying when Desmond died, I miss him more.
Lucy was just using him though.

I heard that they have a few more ideas to pull out but that Feudal Japan is one they won't be doing for a while, and same with China.

I really wanna see a WWI AC, one in the Wild West, or one all the way back in the First Civilization.

I know right. I thought of it after Shaun said something to Desmond about wondering what would happened if they dialed the Animus back to the First Civilization.

And technically if the Animus was real and we had that tech, we'd all be able to access those memories too. Something I read was that something like if you got a group of people of around 1000, every 100 would have the same DNA as one person in the Crusades, so they'd be related.
For all you know, over 100 people could experience Altair's memories.
