Off topic once again, but I just don't want to make a topic about this crap again and get unserious replies.

Right, uh... I'm turning 18 soon which means I'll finally have my own bank account and finally be able to get Paypal. I've been planning for the longest time to draw for money over Furaffinity and deviantART, but I am just really not sure how much should I charge my crap for. I'm not overly skilled, 3 years of depression gave me a huge art block that's been going on for 4 years, so... could I maybe post a drawing or two here, and you tell me what price would you put to it? In dollars, euros, pounds, whatever, I just need some opinions. :/

My suggestion might be to ask other artists? I don't know how many of us here are artists who sell their works but it might be better to talk to someone who has done it already. I personally don't have any experience in terms of art or profiting from it, I wouldn't know how much time and effort goes into everything and how much that time and effort should be charged for- that's the basis of pricing anyway, I presume. Do you have any other contacts on Furaffinity/deviantART who could advise you?

No, nobody. And I feel too embarassed to ask some completely random people on those sites..

Those communities are there for this sort of thing- the focus of the communities is art, I'm certain everyone there will be happy to help you if you make some kind of public post asking for help. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to offer you a little nudge in the right direction. It's hard not to feel embarrassed though, but it might not hurt to try.

I don't know. Honestly I'd rather hear an opinion from a person that could be a potentional costumer. I could ask some artist about my art and they could stick some really high price while my art is not worth even half of that amount of money, so I would never get any costumers like that...

I wouldn't think that at all. If an experienced artist places a high price on your art, they obviously know that your art is worth that much. Whereas I'd say asking consumers means you're more at risk of underpricing. You really ought to be getting back what your picture is worth and no less.
Best would be to ask both, maybe? Some with experience, some who could buy? Maybe ask the consumers then put out a message asking others if that seems reasonable? Eventually you'd just develop a sense of what price to put on things.

@S-F; I think you should maybe snoop around DA and Furaffinity for similar drawings to yours - look at the stuff thats a bit better than yours, and the ones that are not as good as yours, then just look at what they've charged and that might help you get some idea of how much to charge.

I missed a page again. Depends on how good your art is and how much effort you put into the art. Examples would really help.

I'm aware of that artists recommend higher prices, but really, it takes me an hour for a reference sheet picture or a character design. I was thinking putting some really low prices at first, because let's face it, I haven't drawn in 4 years, right now I'm only comfortable doing ref sheet pictures until I get used to it all again. Then if it gets a bit popular, I'd probably raise the prices as I'd hopefully improve... I just want to earn some extra money from anything. I feel bad asking my dad to get everything for me with his own money.

But oh well, chara design from 3 months ago. Done in about 10 minutes during class.

You've improved a ton! I reckon that's a good idea, start not too high- then, once people are more aware of you being out there, gradually raise the prices up.

Actually I have trouble seeing a Fae's eyes most of the time. Spirals have huge slit owl eyes :3

I just wasted 90k on 3 Tinctures for Coli. And guess what? When I clicked to reset all the stats, it didn't reset them. They're still the way they were, and I have no Tinctures in my hoard.

Which admin/mod do I contact about this? I'm going to demand free Tinctures. This is just retarded...
