I have noticed that there is a large rise of disruptive underaged users on the forums lately, most even too young to be on the internet in general (6-9). Most of their behavior is getting way out of control, and I think dark52 should really look into this issue or likely reconsider the forum age limit. I know that some young users aren't all disruptive, but this issue should be looked into thoroughly.

I agree.Though yes some are not disruptive some are getting out of hand especially in the Skylanders sections.They are making up false info and getting some to believe it.I would not like to ask dark to put a fourm age limit but it might have to be done.I think this could be helped if from now on the register had you conform your age and it would be optional in the settings to show it.If there is to be an age limit it should be around 10 up unless there is parental guidance.It would probably help if some parents came and looked at this as I know there happens to be some parents here.

There already is a forum age limit.

What else have they been posting other then make info?

At one point, I've seen few of them posting their mailing addresses, including zip codes.

One of them even posted their Facebook.

I don't know if dark is even aware (or even care) how the younger users are making themselves vulnerable by doing that.

Well, we have at least one user who thinks it is okay to post links to other people's personal Facebook as part of some personal vendetta against them and nothing was done about that - so why worry about people posting their own Facebook pages?

Most of them have the basic reading level.

Well these kids are getting a bit out of hand. I wouldn't say kids from the ages 6-9 shouldn't be able to use the internet. Yes, you might remember I used to immaturely roleplay as Pop Thorn. I stopped that, ok? So please don't bother me about it. Though I still wouldn't say there should be an age limit. But when I really think about it, maybe there should. Some of these kids will probably get banned sooner or later and we all know what happens when a kid discovers they got banned...

Most of these kids aren't even aware how vulnerable they would be when posting their personal information, like mailing addresses, on here. The site is growing because of the young target audience of Skylanders, and if it continues to grow and the children become too rowdy, then dark should step up his moderation.

What does that have to do with the current subject?

The only thing I've noticed in the skylander sections is the lack of general posting. I've noticed 4-5 zero post accounts start threads that showed that the newcomers were new to the game, but at least the interest was in the posting technique. Stuff and Nonsense and the other areas of this board is littered with garbage...I think the average IQ there is about 20. That doesn't bother me as much because you are in fact getting what the forum is advertising

I haven't noticed any disruption outside of the regular folks that generally do what they always do.

If anyone has specific threads/instances, that would be appreciated.

I generally dislike posts that resemble texts, and I generally ignore those that can't be bothered with articulate posting styles (I would settle with proper English grammar). Like that crazy AoA guy...hardly types anything

While I certainly think that Stuff & Nonsense has changed wildly over the course of the last, say, 4 years or so, I can't say for certain if that's because the average age of a user there has gone down by a few years. (At least, I THINK it has.) As for the Skylanders section, I have no opinion because I don't really go there. <.<;

I DO think that something needs to be done about the number of younger users spamming the comments pages on different games. Remind me why we even have those again? <.<

Because dark doesn't think it's a problem for the young users to use those pages as chatrooms to spam whatever they desire. Some of them don't even use the actual forms, or even know it exists unless they're forced to go there.

Yes, we all used to be kids ourselves, but that's besides the point at hand.

I believe that this issue has been summed up very nicely. Some of these kids are or can be a bit of a handful at times, but there also some who aren't, like Eevee88 for example.

As older members of the forums, we should be setting an example for them, if anything at all.

Quality control on a site this big and popular is going to be impossible even with an age limit. Other sites have successfully had an age limit put in and enforced because they were small enough to handle such a thing, and had an administration that was active enough to enforce it (ahem).

You're going to have to just deal with it and report what may be too personal or too spammy.

As Iblistech said we have to set examples and these kids but most if not all kids under the age of ten that join here are coming for skylanders and there are some people who happen to not like these skyros and there fore it is partially our fault for not giving them advice and such.It is also Dark's fault for not communicating lately,he should be communicating because as an admin he has power and needs to use that power to help new users.I know this sounds cheesy and stupid but we should appoint someone to be a person that helps new users and shows them how to use the site.I do feel making an age limit now that the problem has already begun and the fact that the site is big and popular as CAV said would be completely idiotic but we should feel that we have to take responsibility into our own hands since apparently our admin dosen't feel like it.I know he is there to ban those who post porn and all that but this is why he needs to help with this.What if he and none of the mods are on which happens and some troll posted porn in the skylander section and calls it something like 'New skylander,like look now!' and a young user happens to go to the topic they would lose their whole childhood.

I just ignore the disruptive pricks because there isn't much that can be done. Even if dark52 put an age limit on this site (which was already denied), it wouldn't do anything because people can easily lie about their age. You know you've done it at least once in your life. I know plenty of people who use Facebook and other sites that have age limitations because all they have to do is say they are older than they really are. The only really solution is for mods to be stricter with them and dark52 could maybe make a site tutorial that all new users have to go through before they can post anything

After I heard that insult directed at Aura, I kind of agree there should be an age limit. Also, COTV is also a well known skylanders youtuber.

Honestly. I think the only problem with the younger kids on the site is that they're posting personal information. I don't know if they actually do this but the previous posts said they did so I'll just go on that. But I do hope that the mods in the skylanders sections are editing/deleting those posts. Maybe pm them telling them to stop or something.

Yes, one of them actually posted their zip code, mailing address and email. I don't know if dark even removed that comment from the Swap Force page.
