Looks different

Looks like I have a new favourite with this undead lady! Hope hex won't mind! Loving these three. Not disappointed at all.

Yes! I knew it! TfB did it! These looks like the good old characters from Spyro's Adventure and Giants! Not that the Swap Force characters are bad... They just look different. The elements seems to be Water (for the dolphin), Undead (for the bat witch girl) and Life (for the dragonfly-dragon hybrid)
I thought of some names for them: feel free to use them, since I can't join the contest.
- Tooth Terror, Finley
- Mist Ery, Fog Fear
- Hive Five, Sparks

Hive Five is an awesome name, or at the very least, a great catchphrase for the guy.

Anyone see in the first one how the top has a water symbols and the bottom has an air symbol?

While I don't know for certain, this makes me feel more like Swapforce had different designers. These guys just pop like they did in SSA and Giants.
That bug is an instant favorite for me.
Time to go to sleep and dream up some puns.

Catchphrase for first character:

Attack with a porpoise!

I can't help but think the porpoise looks like a crummy Thumpback knockoff. He just feels too similar, and I think Thumpback did it a lot better and looks a lot cooler and this guy doesn't offer enough new.

I like the other two, though. A lot.

Just judging by the designs, of course- but we don't have anything else, so yeah...

I may sound like a downer here, but I'm downright disappointed. We get a chimera of Camo and a bug, a young Hex blended with the already-overused bottom of Warnado and Free Ranger, and a wannabe Thumpback that looks like a traitor to the trolls that the Skylanders fight.

So I see tiny thumpback, tornado hex, and firefly drobot.

Well, actually only the dragon looks like a baby, to Me. The witch isn't that different from Stealth Elf or Chill, and the dolphin is a bulky character, just like Eruptor or Terrafin.
We just got used to the Swap Force Corelanders, wich looks more mature than the previous games characters.

Skylanders Karting, you buy the karts as "figures" and put them on the portal along with your chosen character to play

I do wonder why they didn't make as much use of "items" as they could have. There were very few in previous games and only really came with the big packs rather than on their own.

Very interesting...The correlations to Thumpback, Hex and Camo are astonishing...and leading me to believe that there will be some sort of piggybacking abilities for these characters with existing giants/regular core characters (but probably not swap force, cuz only 4 RFID's can be read)....

It makes perfect sense cuz it will allow them to move old inventory warming shelves and continue on with (most likely less expensive to produce) re-poses...

It would also add value to characters already purchased by the existing faithful customers that bought a lot of figures to this point...so that would be the "win win" scenario...

The characters look like teenagers, maybe it's going to be Skylanders Junior League

Another lady Skylander! Much like with Giants, I only bought the ladies with the Swap Force game right way, so they know what to do to get me to spend on day one! They released 6 females with wave one.

As for what she is, I thought succubus right away because of Darkstalker's Morrigan, but I highly doubt that they'd go there with Skylanders, so she has to be a playful imp-type. She has a mischievous look like she'd be a prankster. I'll bet she'll be cracking one liners in the game and will be far more cheerful than Hex ever was.

The dolphin pirate is cool looking I'll admit, but I detest dolphins because they are so cute and cocky so I'm like 'meh whatever' to him. I just hope he won't have a rude name like 'Blow Hole' as that's the first name that went into my head...

The dragon type is more of the same. I thought 'that's Camo with wings.' Now I see the odd racer helmet and the #5 and I'm wondering if there is something more to it. An air race game is perhaps in store for Skylanders 4? Probably not as it's just a character design, but who knows!

That was the whole reason for the new portal, to support more tags on at once.

The Dragonfly reminds me alot of Flygon. It also has alot of leaves on it....

Its also worth noting that the dragonfly looks very similar to Camo and the bat girl resembles Hex. Perhaps Skylanders that have "evolved" or something to that effect. I pointed out how similar "Ranger" and the hammer guy looked to Gilly and Triggs.

Dual Elements may be interesting. If that were the case it would seem they are all part air element. Dolphin has an 'air' type symbol on his belt. Hex person is in a cloud. And dragon fly is life but is also flying. So maybe they're taking the dual elements from swap force and putting them into cores?

Yeah...It's a shell on the dolphin skylanders belt...which fits with water element....I'm calling coincidence the fact that a typical shell like that looks like the air symbol...Besides, they would be much more distinctive in showing the air symbol anyway.

You do know that they helped play a role in the Swap Force figure design as well, right?

Yea, I know, but still, SW designs seemed more "mature" than SSA/Giant's designs.
